We are starting to get a clearer picture of some of the toll COVID took at the height of the pandemic in 2020 and 2021. Some of the hardest hit were pregnant women in America. New numbers from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention show the US maternal mortality rate outstripped the rest of the first world by double digits per one hundred thousand. A couple of things have changed since then -- lower rates of COVID, and more people who have been vaccinated. We started having our kids at home. Before Covid. Got tired of telling cunt doctors that the wife didn't want drugs or a c-section. Always want to fucking argue because it's about getting you in and out more than anything. Hospitals treat pregnant moms like fucking cash cows. Pump em full of drugs that makes their body not able to respond to natural stimuli during the birthing process, "Oh, looks like we have to gut you to save the baby! Here's some more drugs!" *bills insurance for all that extra shit* It's no surprise that these numbers increased with the complete lack of humanity hospitals adopted over Covid. |

The article hinted at why it became far worse, long after the shot came out. They didn’t have the resources to properly treat all the pregnant women. I don’t know about their hospitals but I know ours here drastically cut back all services and appointment waits times skyrocketed. They laid off doctors left and right while at the same time took in millions in federal dollars. They also had a monetary incentive for people to croak when they had covid. I’m sure that didn’t effect the performance of the doctors themselves, but when few are left and can’t get to everyone it sure does and who made the decisions to cut back on care? |

My county hospital almost closed up in 2020. Wasn't designated as a "covid hospital" by the state and they shut down all "elective" surgeries and were only performing live saving procedures. Stuff like strokes and heart surgery often didn't qualify. Doubt they got much Federal money since all covid patients went to a hospital one county over. I know people that work at a few different hospitals around the state and didn't see a single covid case in 2020, they screened in the parking lot and any suspected cases got sent to the other petri dishes. |
