YMMV I also like the "other guys" that everyone shits on---Lazenby's only movie and both Dalton movies. I hate Roger Moore and Brosnan both. Roger Moore was a caricature of a man, a total joke. My wife does love For Your Eyes Only though because it has Topol, she loves the song, and the greek girl obsessed with revenge wields a crossbow and only gives it up AFTER her revenge is done. She agrees that Roger Moore fighting people is laughable and he looks like a stiff breeze would knock him down. |

Bond girl is tasty. Song is shit. I couldn't stand Moore, Brosnan was awful. Craig ain't bad, but his movies are poorly edited and dark. Judi Dench is nails-on-a-blackboard irritating. SJW will ruin all the things, eventually.

Well, personally I don’t give much of a fuck about having a female 00. The problem is that “James Bond” is a character with specific traits. There are tons fo super spy characters and super spy series. In theory each should have their unique characters with unique traits. While Hollywood has been remarkably successful in giving Bond new faces over the years - the core character has remained relatively constant. He is an a slightly broken male - athletic, charismatic, alcoholic, pathological risk taking womanizer who is skilled in spy craft and works for the British government. Change any of these things and you stop having James Bond. Kind of like what happened to Reacher - you don’t take a character who is a mountain of a man and cast Tom Cruise.
—- As for the song, needs some viagra to get it up and running. Guess that is the problem with an aging Bond. Almost by definition, Bond has to be in his 30’s or 40’s. Old enough to have advanced through the Navy and MI6, but still young enough to be a field agent (which in his 40’s is pushing it). This bond is set in his 50’s perhaps seeing 60 coming soon - quick google, actor is 51. |
