Picked up some 101 last night....

Picked up some Rittenhouse Rye the night before....

Read this link for the reason I picked up the Wild Turkey 101.  I already had a bottle too.  Very good bourbon.

That’s crazy! Blanton’s and Eagle Rare at a Sam’s Club. I think Sams’ carries a better selection than Costco but I’ve never seen that up here in the StL/St Charles area. I remember someone posting a pic of a Costco in Sugarland TX with Weller SR on the rack.

Our Sam's is in TN and Costco is just across the state line in GA.

Neither is allowed to sell distilled spirits.

Beer and wine is for sale at both.

Sure wish at least one of them could sell Bourbon.

Nobody puts ER in the corner.
I’d allow it with the 14 year Old Fitz from the Heritage Center (that isn’t supposed to exist).

I had a comparison of E.H. Taylor single barrel and the Old Fitz 9 year  tonight. Both very good, but also both very different. E.H. is good, but the Old Fitz is wow.

I also had Eagle Rare, Michter’s American, and Woodford Double Oak, Eagle Rare gets the corner out of these.

Picked up a bottle of Elijah Craig Small batch. Wasn’t too impressed with my first pour, but after I tried another pour later It wasn’t all that bad. Took it to my buddies and he had quite a few pours. He loved it, and thought it was “amazing”. I’ll reserve my final opinion for when I finish the bottle.

Not all are open.  I just had a party and probably wiped a few bottles out.

I’d say 100 are open, 40 are not.

I feel insignificant compared to some guys on straightbourbon and here.

I have maybe 2-4 of my favorite bottles, like HMk , blantons, HW midwinter etc, otherwise I just like a lot of variety.

Some say that open bottles have a 1-2 year lifespan, personally I think that is hogwash.  I’ve had some bottles for 8 years and they taste just fine.  Worst thing is when corks dry up and start flaking.  I got vacuvins to fix that.

Picked these up yesterday. Went for the Russell’s but the store had just gotten in the MMPS and I couldn’t pass it up. Both pours were very enjoyable.
