I would never bet against Max, and RBR has a habit of holding their cards very close to their chest.
30 minutes to find out ...

I’ve tried the app on my iPad and on my TV through my Apple TV no luck. I can see them talking but no sound.

I had to restart the app to get it to work.

I think the sf-24 is fast.

If they have fixed their tire management and can use the c1 as the test have shown, it’s going to be good !

I would love to see Sainz make a push for the championship.

Fucking slipstream for Verstappen on the straight.

Geez..  Verstappen didn't need that for fuck sake

He gained at least 0.1 (arguably even more) on that

Loved it, but Sainz got an equal tow. Helped a little, not enough. I'll go on record saying I think Merc are running dangerously low and are at risk of a plank-wear DQ this weekend. Just watching them throw plank/sparks around corners where NO other cars are.

Not the good one though.

It was Charles that was competing with max

Yes but sainz wasn’t the one competing with max unfortunately.

Anyway, it means that on a single lap the cars are pretty much equal on one lap.

Let’s see how it goes on long runs, especially on c1

I'll give you that one. Charles is just so damn impressive in Qualifying. If they really did deal with the deg issues, gonna be an actual fun and competitive year. As much of a RBR fan I am, hope both Ferrari drivers consistently smoke Checo.  /shrug. Am I a bad fan?

Someone else mentioned it, but the whistle / whine of the F2 cars is gonna get REALLY old, really fast. Was clear as can be on the Sprint race broadcast. Once you hear it, you can't stop hearing it. Annoying AF.

Apparently the fastest lap on the qual was Charles q2 lap

In Q3 Charles only had a single set of good tires

I think the wind and the cold track temps had an affect on everyone. I don't think we really saw
anyone able to put in a "perfect" lap and show the true pace.
But it does feel like Ferrari and Mercedes have closed the gap to RB just a bit.

Honestly yes. Because that tow max got on the straight gave him at least 0.1 (he improved his own T1 0.2 there)

The telemetry will be clear about it.

Actually that’s where he made all the difference with Charles lap

Qualifying has been close for a long time.

The real question is race pace and specifically tire degradation.

Strong deja vu from 2022. The RB20 doesn't quite have the edge the '19 did. We will see tomorrow.

Visa Burger King Home Depot Popeyes Racing Bullshit Cash me outside did not do much.

Haas nowhere near as bad as everyone thought. Mercedes meh again. Ferrari's success only stoppable by the steady hand of their race strategists*

*We are checking

It’s not an excuse. It’s just what happened. You would have seen it if you had watched

I’m under no illusion that Ferrari will win in a regular race, but they certainly had a shot at the pole without that tow max got

Don’t forget the change to the DRS activation (activated after first lap).

Wonder if they also raised the ride height, because it was clear they were running low.

Basically, the usual gang as expected in the top 10.  RBR, Ferrari, Merc, McLaren, and Alonso.  Only Hulk was maybe a little surprise.  I still tap Max for the win, but think tire deg will determine the rest of the order.

Well, we'll see how things pan out during tomorrow's race - but Qualifying pretty much showed the RBR is by far still the car to beat even with the unpredictable surface and cold track temps that caught almost everyone out ...

I look at Perez at the normalized pace of the car. At this track they don't have the advantage they enjoyed last year, but from the practice long runs I don't see them being beaten tomorrow. I am looking forward to seeing how and where others have improved on their tires, especially sharl the scud stud.
