No. It hit the front of the tank chassis (t72 chassis) and not the missiles. Second hit the missiles.

They claim by Massie and Biggs is that the Bill had a hidden clause that could allow the President to revoke anyone's rights, maybe for being an abortion supporter. I think that's not all what's possible,

The text of the bill is very clear, and its part of legislation that deals specifically with foreign world leaders who are being sanctioned, not random foreigners.  These foreigners in fact appear to have more rights in some cases than US Citizens.

I am against giving the President to much power as it is, Presidents should have to come before congress, but that ship has sailed years ago. This is an odd no vote, and combined with the continued dragging of heals on Russia matter concerning with  the mid-terms coming up.

Be that as it may, on principle I can understand the no vote. I sure wish they acted on principle more often when we control the house and senate, but I'm bitching into the wind at that point.

Al the maps I've seen in this entire thread and I read every page, shows where they are on roads and glosses over the simple fact that having a Kubelwagon, two MBTs and a half dozen platoons of infantry on a road doesn't mean you actually control that territory 87 miles all around.

Putin is attacking Ukraine! Lets all give up some Liberty!
It is not like we did not know this is one of the objectives Democrats have been aiming for for two decades. Amazing that after the last two years of Covid BS, that many are still so easily fooled.
It is fine to sanction Putin, hell as far as I am concerned, stick a missile up his ass, but this legislation appears to be...problematic.
With your track record, I am not surprised that you defend it.

Yes, in Afghanistan, and I was a TOW antitank platoon leader also a loong time ago,.

Watch this snackbar video, starting at eight second.  It is a TOW missile.  It is SACLOS (Semi automatic command line of sight). It is NOT fire and forget.  You keep the sight on the target and the sensor sees where the missile is in relation to the crosshairs, and makes small corrections.

https://funker530.com/video/tow-missile-cuts-car-in-half-nsfw/

SACLOS, wire guided missile tracks are parallel to the ground, slow, and jerky.  But clip the wire and they go crazy.  Jerk the sight to hard and the wire can snap.  Its very thin.

This was some sort of Russian wire guided SACLOS antitank missile.

Like most my initial thought is definitely disappointment, but they deserve to have the chance to explain why.

Former 11H here. It flew like a TOW does, only I think the wires weren't clipped but the gunner jerked it up, which is a bad thing because you can cause the wires to snap doing that.

Javelins don't fly level then up and over. They go up, then straight, then down.

I edited my post because it was explained from some why they voted no, sounds like the right vote honestly there should have been more against it.

Sadly the media and democrats will portray things different and they'll try to have the narrative its about Russia rather then the BS in the bill.

No, it went straight up as a malfunction, hit in front of the target, and missed. Then they both stopped, the guys in the track on the right dismounted and ran like hell.  I assume the other crew did also.

What makes you think the first shot was a hit?

A group of European politicians addressed the Nobel Committee with a corresponding open letter.

They asked the Nobel Committee to extend the nomination procedure for the Nobel Peace Prize until March 31, 2022, to allow for a Nobel Peace Prize nomination for President Zelensky and the people of Ukraine. Officially, the deadline for nomination for the award expired on January 31.

"We are witness to the courage of the people of Ukraine withstanding this war waged upon them by the Russian Federation. Brave Ukrainian men and women are fighting to preserve democracy and self-government. From the defiance democratically elected Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to the man with tears in his eyes saying goodbye to his family to fight for his country, people all over Ukraine are rising up to resist the forces of authoritarianism.

We believe that now is the time to show the people of Ukraine that the world is on their side," reads the letter.

The letter to the Nobel Committee was signed by 36 European politicians from the Netherlands, Great Britain, Germany, Sweden, Estonia, Bulgaria, Romania and Slovakia. The letter is open to co-sign by political leaders across the world until March 30th.

Zelensky may become a candidate for the Nobel Peace Prize

Technically, he's waging war. ITts not a war of his choice on instigation, but still... I figured they'd give Fauci one, just because.
