I've been listening to book Relentless Strike on Audible and the US had a guy who was Delta "retire" but kept working. He grew up in Eastern Europe so he had an accent. During the shock and awe phase he was driving around Baghdad in a SUV equipped with NSA installed comms surveillance gear trying to get a fix on Saddam's location. He went from AD Army to civilian but basically had the same job description. There is also the guy Jocko interviewed who grew up in Poland and was event sent to prison by the Soviets. He walked up one of our embassies and got asylum. Became a US Navy SEAL. I have no doubt we have guys like that over there who grew up in the region who can do our bidding while blending in and giving us deniability because they'd have records from their origin outside of the US. |

So I have a question out of curiosity, and let me preface this by saying that I am 100 percent on the side of Ukraine and want to see more crispy orcs.
We've heard a lot about the Russian oligarchs and how they support Putin's ass but it seems to me that they are laying low and don't want any part of this invasion. I am just curious and quite possibly I may be dead wrong but does anyone know for sure? I'm just reaching out for the vast knowledge of the hive. |

Yes, Russian purchased thousands French thermo sights for their tanks.
Original it suppose to be only being use for export Russian tanks, such as the Indian T-90A and S. But the Russian started stockpile those, and eventually installing it on their own tanks. |

View Quote https://www.oryxspioenkop.com/2022/02/attack-on-europe-documenting-equipment.html I am really astounded by that list. Its astounding. What blows my mind is 170 captured tanks. Not damaged and captured, but undamaged/captured. That is the equivalent of all the tanks in a US WWII armored division. Captured in one month. I'm trying to wrap my head around this and there aren't really any good historical examples that come close to this. Country A invades country B and 17% of their tank crews in the first wave abandon their vehicles and walk away in the first month. This is like the Italian invasion of N Africa, or some sort of Mussolini-like fiasco. Italy invading Greece or something. The delta between the aggressiveness of the national command authority and the unwillingness of the troops to fight isn't something that has an easy precedent. The alternative explanation is the Ukrainians are lying their asses off. The most likely outcome is a month for the Russians to prep, a second offensive, a fiasco, and then rout. Most of the time the defenders quit and surrender in droves at the end of a war and that's how you know the end is near. This is just weird. Morale is harder to measure then numbers but these are crazy numbers. |
