I know the Uks (seemingly) don't want to fire the first shot and are still somehow hoping this doesn't happen, but all those Russian assets staged so close together at their jump-off points...Uks could deal some hurt with a pre-emptive strike.

I hope the Turks are indeed bringing in a shipment of weapons, not just evac'ing people out of the area.

"Hey we have a lot invested in Ukraine". Putin, "Don't worry we will take care of you there, just do as little as possible with Nato" Nato to Turkey, "Hey you are a member and need to contribute". Now Turkey makes a decision to do the absolute minumum to satisfy Nato. Probably flying in humanitarian supplies, food, medical stuff. |

I'd be grabbing all the artillery shells and stashing them. They make great IEDs. Big mech armies with firepower want the weak power to go toe to toe. That would be my thought as well Doesnt Ukraine have anyone in the political sphere that will stand by them? Everyone keeps saying they need to be seen as a victim by the world. Anyone who cant face reality and support them even if they took an offensive doesnt truly support them anyway. |

Comparing where TUAF600 is on the flight tracker and Google maps, it looks like she's back up to a service road that goes to a major road in Ukraine. E40 it looks like? So could be dropping off goods and getting people out on two cargo flights. It'll be interesting to see if they park 601 there, too.

Man, Ukraine could really rain down some serious hurt on those mile long convoys of Russian troops stuck in traffic jams just across the border into Belarus. A mix of HE and submunition warheads from their BM-21, BM-27 and BM-30 rocket artillery batteries would turn those convoys into piles of scrap metal and hamburger. Yet they sit and wait. I'll be damned if I would just stand around while someone is tightening a noose around my neck.

Its very useful when you arent talking with ATC so you can still be aware of other aircraft (it works through GPS). My guess, is its on as a safety/courtesy for other aircraft operating outside of radar service areas (including mobile units), or without flight followings. Rules say you have ADS B on when flying in Europe and a lot of other places and for the time being the aviation rules aren’t thrown out the window for US forces. If US Military aircraft were flying without ADS B on it’s a signal that the rules are out the window and gives the Russians a potential excuse to intercept or take some action against them. No “innocent” excuse for the Russians to take action against them if they are squawking and following the rules of aviation. It may seem like a load of horseshit given that some stuff has started to kick off but unless the US military is actually going to start engaging expect to see US aircraft continuing to show up ADS B. Interesting, thanks for the feedback y'all. I know nothing of aviation. Silly me figured US military aircraft just did whatever the hell they wanted everywhere lol US military aircraft more or less follow the same rules as everyone else unless they are in some variety of special use airspace. Operating in foreign countries military aircraft are definitely going to play by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) procedures and definitely so when operating someplace like Ukraine at the moment. It’s a safe bet that US forces are going to be avoiding anything that the Russians could use to portray aircraft as taking aggressive action. |
