Thanks!  Thousands of posts back in this thread, you may find photos from Ukraine taken during the first month of the war. Epaulets bearing “K” were taken from dead Russian invaders’ uniforms. “K” is used to designate “kadet” or essentially an officer-candidate, still in a military academy. |

Ukrainian Cyrillic is different and the Ukrainian language has more in common with the Polish and Slovak languages than it does with Russian. It's a phonetic alphabet, I learned it before I went to Kindergarten. Much easier to spell with once you know all the letters (33 of them plus the soft sign). |

What a shame.  Maybe the mobilization in Russia will step up efforts to mobilize here. I checked in a few weeks ago with my volunteer contacts.

Then send in the troops to mop up and take the country. Just feeding the grinder is a loser for them. I don’t with this possibility in principle, and I think we are underestimating the nuclear option. However, they probably no longer have the training establishment or officer corps to stand up new units. They would be sent to bring units up to full strength and keep them there. And then yes, then perhaps follow behind a “rolling nuclear barrage.” Putin has been all in to win since day one. He doesn’t care if he destroys Russia in the process to say nothing of Ukraine. What he’s doing with mobilization can’t turn the tide conventionally, but can when combined with nukes. We need to have a counter ready for the worst case scenario. |
