I think long term Finland has a great Resrrve model. You do your two (?) years active duty then go into Reserve status. The key is Finland has nominally stockpiled enough equipment and the reservists kept up on periodic training that those reserves can be activated very quickly. And they supposedly have 3 million in the reserve. Save money with a small active duty force but have a very massive reserve force ready to roll when needed. That would like the US having a 50 million reserve force (spitballing). 😂. China, hold my beer!

Fast forward to now and how this has become a decisive partisan political issue (with help from Russian IO at least on some level) and an election coming up, I think the dems think they are in a good position right now with the continued funding issue. They will claim a political victory if funding is continued, but if funding isn't continued, then they will be able to blame the republicans as Ukraine starts to run black on arms and it shows negatively on the battlefields. Every horrific scene coming from Ukraine in the summer of 2024 will be blamed on republicans. As soon as weapons started flowing, it was clear as day that Russia would look to influence the political landscape to try curtail weapons to Ukraine. That is the biggest weapon Russia has wielded the last two year. A nuke can cause $50 billion in damages and kill tens of thousands of people, but employing IO to turn support away from Ukraine also is $50 billion and damages plus will get tens of thousands of Ukrainians killed.

Biden doesn't GAF about Ukraine past "how can I use this to get reelected". That is always the FIRST rule in evaluating why a politician acts why they do. Not money, and not morality; it's how does this help my next election?

This is why I'm so disappointed in the path half the republican party took. While FJB was straddling the fence, their was two options the republicans could have taken. In keeping with tradition, they took the idiotic path.

Regan increased the Reserves big time (I was one) and that was really the straw that broke the USSR up. They tried to
keep up and it broke them.

They used to have this in the universities where they'd teach you a MOS most closely related to your major part-time followed by a very abbreviated boot camp. The graduates would become reserve officers. The whole thing was a joke.
The system led to the paradoxical situation where those who wanted to serve or simply weren't college material became enlisted and those who didn't, their prospective officers.

New Russian S-400 launch site located at 44.705877, 33.598860 just east of Belbek Air Base is now active, with 5x 5P85 TELs in launch configuration! Both a 92N6 engagement radar and a 96L6 acquisition radar are present on elevated berms. I have included a plot showing the line-of-sight coverage from the 92N6 berm of the Belbek site. It appears likely the TELs and radars at this site were relocated from the S-400 launch site near Yevpatoriya that was attacked earlier in September. I have included a second plot of the former Yevpatoriya launch site, it appears the new Belbek site can provide nearly the same coverage of The Black Sea west of Crimea.

Note: This site like many used by Russia in Crimea appears to date back to Soviet times.

Can a Bayraktar TB2 launch HARM?

I was thinking of how Ukraine used Bayraktar to distract the Moskva while it got wrecked by Neptunes and wondering if Bayraktar could be deployed for SEAD/DEAD missions. But I suppose that would make them a target for air-to-air engagement, which they would be sitting ducks for. I don't know anything about that kind of thing.

No, I'm not screaming anything.  I'm stating the obvious. The heavy trolling against the supporters of Ukraine here isn't a secret, is it?

Do you see pro-ukraine threads posted daily in GD that is obvious attempt at trolling or to call out the ruskie-bros...or do you see a lot of "fuck Ukraine" posts made daily  that ALL have members calling out uke-bros?

I see a huge difference,  I'm not talking about the accusations that are made .I'm talking about what's is actually happening, and I guess allowed to happen. Or I guess I should just be cool with it I guess, and I'm just seeing something that you are not or anyone else is seeing
