Orban gets a reprieve from Europe hoping to encourage his goodwill. Instead, he wants to play little dictator.

I hope the Baltics, Nordics and Poland start playing fuck fuck with him. Yes, if we all acted like you we could all burn down together.

Europe shouldn’t have released the $16 billion (while withholding another 25), rather they should have tied it directly to Ukraine aid by corresponding percentage. Ukraine should keep OTP Bank on the enablers of terrorist list because that is Orban’s pain point.

When Russia’s economy collapses it will be fun to watch Orban come begging for a nuke plant and begging for cheap oil. I hope the Hungarians realize what an ass he is and toss him out for hooking up with Russia.

No matter how much they like his domestic issues, his getting in bed with Putin will be an eventual disaster for Hungary and the. What good will all that domestic policy be?

Others such as Poland have navigated similar diplomatic waters with friendship and respect while adhering to their own country’s values. How does getting in bed with Russia ever turn out well for the vassal state?

So pathetic.

Peace with a country who's ideology is you have no right to exist and killing millions of your citizens is just fine as long as you are subjugated?  Just what rational mind would be OK with that peace?

Project 1135M (Krivak-class frigate), five large landing ships, and, apparently, the bulk of small missile ships are also in Novorossiysk.

Another part of the ships - one large landing ship, two small missile ships and both new minesweepers of Project 12700 (Alexandrit-class) - moved from Sevastopol to Feodosia.

This is the second Russian Triumf complex destroyed in the past month. The first one was hit in Yevpatoria on September 14.

Russians might need to think of a new name for this complex (Triumf means Triumph) from now on.

ETA - beat. ❌Last night, the SBU struck the S-400 "Triumph" air defense system near the russian Belgorod region. The cost of such a system is 1.2 billion USD.

This is already the second "Triumph" system that the SBU has struck in the last month. The first was hit in Yevpatoria on September 14th.

Probably the russians shall think about a new name for this complex now.

Natalia Humeniuk, head of Ukraine’s southern military command’s press center, stated that the sea battlefront line has been pushed back at least 100 nautical miles (185 km) from Ukraine’s coast since the Russian war against Ukraine began.

At the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion in February, Russian ships approached Ukraine’s Odesa region within artillery strike range. They were first pushed back after the destruction of the flagship Moskva in April 2022, then once again by Ukraine’s liberation of Zmiyinyi island, and finally, by the liberation of Black Sea gas rigs in 2023.

“Russian ships and boats of the Black Sea Fleet are actually not sailing towards Ukraine’s territorial waters now,” Humeniuk said during a national TV briefing. “From time to time, they appear near the Crimean coast, but no closer. They don’t dare go beyond Cape Tarkhankut.“

Humeniuk also noted that Russia is trying to demonstrate supremacy in the Black Sea with tactical aviation.

In the last 24 hours, Russia attacked Ukraine’s strategic Zmiinyi (Snake) Island twice with guided bombs. The Russians have been hitting the island with 2-3 bombs daily in recent days.

The comments highlight Russia’s limitations in projecting naval power following Ukrainian attacks in the Sea.

As was reported in September, Ukraine attacked the reserve and then also the main Russian Black Sea Fleet Headquarters.

Ukrainian attacks on the Russian fleet allowed to reopen commercial shipping in all three key Ukrainian seaports despite Russian threats. Ten ships have already sailed from Ukraine’s reopened sea ports to export grain in September, despite Russia’s grain deal withdrawal and ongoing threats.

utter nonsense.

Ukraine is winning the fight, as I have repeatedly said. Russia is the much more powerful nation and still hasn't been able to take Kyiv after 20 months of war with every advantage.

Look at the USA vs Iraq in 2003. We had soldiers sleeping in Saddam's palaces in less time than Russia has in Ukraine and Zelenskyy is still free and in charge.

You are right in spirit.  Unfortunately, this is not the "Russian" way.  Putin has set the Russians on a course of conquest that he can no longer control; at this point, Putin has no choice but to continue the war.  Any so-called "Peace" agreement would be temporary until the Russians can rearm/refit.  Russia has committed too much of their land power, residual strength, and economic power for Putin or any other leader to back down at this point.  Putin and those around him see this as an existential struggle for national survival, and Russia has already abandoned much of it's advantageous position in Central Asia, it's position vis/vis China, international standing, and it's world trade relationships, etc. to win in Ukraine.  Ukraine, for it's part, requires security; therefore, any since agreement the Russians would sign that they could market as a "victory" would leave Ukraine unacceptable vulnerable when (not "if) the Russians begin the next phase of the war.  The war will not end until the Russians are beaten so badly that there is no acceptable way to continue the war.  Ukraine (and it's neighboring countries) understand this; the closest analogy I can come up with would be the French "Revanchist" policies regarding Alsace-Lorraine from 1871 through the First World War, in which France crippled it's position in Central Europe and ultimately sacrificed an entire generation of young men to regain them.

I agree with this completely. Russia has to go through this disaster full speed ahead. There is no turning around and going back. The only thing that may derail this disaster is something internally in Russia, like a coup or full civil war which is hard to imagine now. And the result of the coup may be worse than Putin. Ultimately, Russia needs a Dien Bien Phu beating X87 so they never want to see or utter "Ukraine" ever again.

And Xiden's gang or corrupt idiot handwringers have slow walked this to the point that Russia feels they have a chance and they will keep trying. This will cost A LOT of lives at best and maybe go in some unexpected direction at worst.

I find it insulting that those advocating for peace surrender of Ukraine always approach it from "for the good of the Ukrainians".

Some bloke here actually said the Polish saved a lot of lives by surrendering to the Germans at the beginning of WW2, and said Ukraine should do the same. Da fuq

It is … however this is how your get your nationalist supporters be loud.

In my opinion, if Hungarians want to live in Ukraine … ethic or not … obey the laws and traditions within those borders … it’s like me wanting to demand America to change things for Hungarians … nope …

If such Hungarians don’t like how Ukraine is running things … MOVE BACK TO HUNGARY!

That's about a 90 percent perfect analogy.

The 10 percent part is Hungary and all of the EU east of Austria can live fine if they were allowed to sell their products all over the EU instead of being throttled and curtailed because Germany, Belgium, France, Italy, and the other founding members want to protect their agricultural base by not allowing Eastern EU products to sell in western EU.

Henceforth,  the grants and subsidies.

Hey guys, was wondering how many s-400 and s-300 Russia has. Seems Ukraine keeps hitting them.

Was wondering how many they need to hit before actual sead type operations are possible or is that basically a wet dream right now.

I find it insulting that those advocating for peace surrender of Ukraine always approach it from "for the good of the Ukrainians".

Some bloke here actually said the Polish saved a lot of lives by surrendering to the Germans at the beginning of WW2, and said Ukraine should do the same. Da fuq

I repeatedly read this "unwinnable" jibberjabber, especially from some of our own conservative clowns. Can you explain what you mean? Unless you are a pure Russian troll posting Russian disinfo, what do you mean "unwinnable"? Are you one of the folks believing in some Russian reserve army showing up from Siberia and finishing off Ukraine (that the best RU divisions failed to achieve in 2022)?? Or are you simply saying that the pace of UA advance is too slow and too costly and thus they will run out of men, equipment, and resolve before Russia does? Just please dont start the "Russia hasn't even started to fight yet" bullshit.

Do you really believe that the US/NATO can dictate terms to Ukraine, get them to trade territory for some bullshit ceasefire and Russia promises to be good from now on? Do you believe that if all aid stops, Ukraine and Russia will both sit down at some summit, hash out their trivial differences, and agree to be nice neighbors?

These are all serious questions for you good sir. You are either good hearted but incredibly naive or a Russian propagandist.

According to Bloomberg, this is the money that Ukraine will receive in 2024-2027. Earlier, Hungary blocked such assistance using various arguments, including delays in its financing of 13 billion euros, and the inclusion of the Hungarian bank OTP Bank in Ukraine's list of war sponsors.

Orban has already come begging for nuke plants (or oil or gas). The EU has blocked Hungarian nuke assistance while Russia offered help with 25 year loans. Hungary has no domestic oil or gas and no sea coasts for US LNG shipments. The option is nukes or gas piped in from Russia. Spend a winter with your family in Hungary without heat or electricity then let us know which is better...Russian gas and nukes now or EU green renewables starting in 2087? Maybe.

Wow…seems a bit prescient… Russia wants to freeze the war, says Andrii Yermak, head of the Ukrainian President's Office

"We are recording Russian waves of disinformation about the war, ammunition and Ukraine's ability to further win on the battlefield. The answer to this is quite simple - Ukraine will always have something to destroy the Russian enemy with. The Russians really want to freeze the war because they are weaker than before," Yermak writes.

He says that "Russians will not achieve what they want, no matter how many resources they spend on creating a parallel reality," and Ukraine's task is to liberate the entire territory.

Leaving isn’t that simple either.  It was a marathon to England to leave.  Once globalists get their hooks in they aren’t going to make it easy to walk out.

It’s my understanding of that areas history that post WWII parts of Hungary were taken by the Soviets and given to the territory of Ukraine.  I imagine that’s what Jozsi is talking about.  I don’t think it unreasonable to have an ethnic population educated in their native tongue.

That’s far different than Russians that imported theirselves in other land usually after the Soviets killed or deported the poor bastards natives living there.  I can see why that would be a sore point for Hungarians living in Ukraine.

Yep. Actions have consequences.

You can't have your cake and eat it too which is what ass hat Orban is trying to do.

If they can't live with what the EU has become leave it. It truly is that simple.

Is the process for leaving going to be easy, no. Are the globalist going to try to stop you, yes.

But the truth is, they can't stop you if you want to leave.

Will staying in hurt, yes. Will leaving hurt, yes.

Decide which is best for Hungary and fucking do it and deal the consequences.

But fucking over Ukraine within the EU while they are in a war against a genocidal neighbor, all the while sucking up to that genocidal neighbor is biblical level douche-baggery.

And those actions are going to have consequences too. Orban better remember that when/ if UA wins this war. I'm pretty sure they'll remember what he's doing.

Note the failure rate of this system.

Satellite images of the Novaya Zemlya test site from September 20 show that a lot of military equipment has arrived there, including a tractor the size of an intercontinental ballistic missile Burevestnik.  At the same time, its protective coating was removed. For the second time, the same activity was recorded by satellites on September 28.

On August 31, Russia issued a no-fly warning in the area. It was further prolonged a few times. Currently, it's on till October 6. Last time the warning was issued before the tests in 2019.
According to the Nuclear Threat Initiative monitoring group, 13 previous Burevestnik missile launches between 2017 and 2019 failed, taking human lives. Experts are alarmed: failed tests of the missile with a nuclear "motor" will lead to catastrophic outcomes, even without a nuclear warhead onboard.

pdf of a 2019 summary of Russian nuclear weapons systems developments for those interested in light reading, it is a bit dated now in it's understanding of some of these systems and how some of them don't work as advertised.

60 years as a modeler tells me it's a model but I could very well be wrong.
I just wonder why someone would use a specialized lens for a tank pic in a repair facility.

Voting for the new Speaker starts early next week. We need to light up the switchboard and the email inboxes of our reps to show strong support for Ukraine.

Anyone want to help organize a fire mission?

Unfortunately, so many of our ATACMS missiles are out of date. We should sign an agreement for the disposal of this expired ordinance with Ukraine, as they have a lot of recent experience with this. Given the war, we might need to waive normal requirements for disposal methodology and allow them to destroy them in whatever method they find most expedient.

On the plus side, instead of paying them in cash for their disposal services, we might be able to allow them to use the funds to buy other weapons from us.
