Resignation letter chief of staff of Belarus
Dear Viktor Gennadievich! In order to comply with your order regarding the formation of assault battalion groups, I have to report the following: Due to the massive refusal to participate in combat operations of personnel of military units, which should be included in the staff of the above battalion groups, the Belarusian Armed Forces has no possibility to deploy any battalion groups. Explanatory work with the commanders of the military units did not yield any results. I dare to assume that changing the commanders of these troops, replacing those who failed to form groups in the field, would not produce the result we need. Based on the above, I would like your decision to accept my resignation. The Chief of the General Staff is the Deputy Minister of Defense of the Republic of Belarus. The people there fight back causing major Russian losses, but the end result is a destroyed country and Russia going further broke. By DECLARING that we are there and on the ground with our forces and a no fly zone is in place, it changes everything. Putin has to come in after the fact and violate the no fly, and fire on American troops. He is the one doing the escalating then, instead of us. This matters to those who have deeply studied game theory. It puts the decision on the other team. You learn where your enemies line is. We currently have no idea what that is. Forcing him to make a decision to act or not act is paramount to understanding what he is willing to do not only in Ukraine, but worldwide. |

Ive read a lot of statements the last few pages about the Transnistria/Moldova situation, and the best thing we can do there is nothing.
I argue that Russia’s intent in Moldova is purely political and is to either draw an offensive response from NATO or provoke an incident with either Poland or Romania. The combat power in Transnistria is only one BTG, essentially irrelevant to Putin’s ability to achieve his goals in Ukraine. His position all along has been that he is protecting ethnic Russians and this would allow him to shore up his political position internally. The west taking an offensive stance in Moldova gives Putin exactly what he wants - justification to expand and extend the war. It doesn't matter that this position does not square with Russian actions in Ukraine. This is for domestic political consumption and the Russian population has already proven that they will bend over backwards to believe him if at all possible. Instead the West should do nothing. Moldova should say and do nothing about Transnistria’s secession. If the single Russian BTG invades Moldova (or Ukraine) it can’t possibly sustain itself in combat beyond a few days. Supply some Javelins and NLAWS and let them peter out. Furthermore, this also plays into the West’s contention that they are dealing with an aggressive, possibly insane Putin and that appeasement will never work. This strengthens NATOs position to continue and even expand support for Ukraine. An unsettling thought is that this also strengthens the argument that a decapitation strike against Russia is both desirable and necessary. The Russian forces are already in a dire logistical situation and all we need to do is what we are already doing. Never interrupt your enemy in the process of making a mistake. Stay the course and the Russian army and its position in Ukraine will collapse in a few weeks to a few months. |

I think it’s only a matter of when not if at this point. When this first started and Biden gave his press conference where he balked at the idea of removing Russia from SWIFT and refused to answer questions about direct sanctions against Putin I was in the camp that thought it wouldn’t amount to much more than a strongly worded letter. Since then things have changed and almost the entire free world is 100% on board with butt fucking the Russian economy out of existence. |
