All of those states are allies of Russia. We have worked closely with Russia for a new Iran deal and worked closely with them and China for the first one. Seems like we're trying to cut Russia off from its allies. Wonder what that will cost us? In reality I don't think any of them are going to play ball with us. We tried a revolution in Venezuela under Trump. |

It took months to pre-position those assets at the border. It will likely take at least that long to get them out of the country, although many of them won't be going anywhere but the scrap yard. |

For those complaining about Biden negotiating with Venezuela, Iran, and the Saudis for oil….
I’m not exactly excited about that…I would love for the US to be energy independent. But…the time it would take to get US production up to a point where our production would have an impact on the current situation is not exactly short. I don’t think Biden is going to go that route regardless…but given the current state of the US gas (ETA oil/gas) industry, I don’t think looking at alternatives that would avoid driving oil to 200/barrel should be off the table. |

In reality, if I were the GOP hoping for a massive midterm sweep, I'd sabotage every one of these negotiations so that gas goes to the moon and pisses off more voters. Oh, yeah, none of this shit considers us other than manipulating us into getting angry. |

I'm not sure that genie can be put back in the bottle though. There are still a lot of people who remember what it was like before the wall came down, and way too many have had a healthy dose of western culture and amenities. It's easy to keep people enslaved if that's all they know (North Korea). Ita much harder to get them there in the first place. And much, MUCH harder to do that now that it would have been even 30 years ago. |
