my dad had a Sunbeam Alpine, the 4-cylinder one.

the few occasions when I drove it in the very early 1990s, I got hit on by every MILF who saw me.  It was amazing the effect that car had on women.  No idea why.

A DeLorean. With upgraded engine, necessarily.

I was fond of them when in current production, and may yet acquire one.

Heck I'm not getting any younger, and have admired this auto since it was originally manufactured.

Funny story about a charger like that.
We had a local cat lady customer that drove a complete POS Pontiac J2000, and would feed the feral cats at the fairgrounds.  She was always nice enough, but just a bit odd and never liked spending money on car repairs.  We just wrote her off as kind of a nut.
One day she asks the boss if he'd be interested in buying her 85 Dodge from her.  A car we had never seen.  The boss just blew it off and assumed it must have been a bigger POS than the Pontiac since she never drove it or had us work on it.
This went on for a couple months with the boss always kind of ignoring it.  One day she mentions it to my co-worker (who was always on the lookout for cheap beaters) and he says he'll come over and take a look at it.
He goes over and looks.  The car was fucking immaculate.  I think he paid $800 for it.

The boss felt like a fool.

40's Cadillac. I was about 12 yrs old. It was sitting on a vacant lot in the desert. I couldn't find the owner. I showed it to my Dad but he wasn't going for it. It was black, maybe a limousine. But it had some foot rest bars on the back seat floor. Thought it was cool as hell.

ETA. Your Dad may have been correct.

I had a 1971 El Camino SS, a 1967 Camaro RS,  and a 1978 Z28. Its truly a wonder having owned these as a youth that I'm still alive. Surely though, that Jag would have killed me.

My dad & stepmom bought my stepsister a brand new Charade back in the day.  Same color as the one in your picture.  She was an ungrateful beotch about it because she didn't get to pick out a car herself and didn't like it.  Never mind that it was still way better than whatever POS beater she was driving at the time.  They bought it for her because I bought my first brand new car and thought it was unfair that I had a new car and she didn't (even though I bought mine on my own and was paying for it myself).

For me it's a G1 Honda Prelude. Had one as my first car at age 16. Got hard up for cash and sold it to my mom. She was supposed to sell it back to me as soon as my dry spell ended.

She sold it the very next week and it promptly ended up in Mexico

Then I found another 15 years ago but I just can't keep the damn thing running. Parts for it are few and far between.

That's hilarious. The charger in the pic is exactly like the second car I ever owned. It was my first 2.2 powered car, but far from my last. I'm somewhat surprised to see all of the Shelby Dodge comments in this thread. If anyone has questions, just let me know. I'd be more than happy to answer them.

As far as the Chargers, I would love an 87 S car, but I would actually prefer a blue on silver SC. Interestingly enough, the first random picture of this color combo I selected on google has one of my cars in the background.

Bought a left over '05 in Feb '06.  To me it seemed like a mountain of power.  Nice car punch  a lot of of boxes for what a sports car should be.  Too many people hated on it early on to have a big following.  It was a sweet fast ride.  400/hp/400lbft  six speed.  It would roll.
