1) Background info: Source "A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket will launch the second pair of O3b mPOWER broadband internet satellites into Medium Earth Orbit for SES of Luxembourg. The satellites, built by Boeing, will provide internet services over most of the populated world, building on SES’s O3b network. The Falcon 9’s first stage booster will land on a drone ship in the Atlantic Ocean." 2) Launch window: 5:12 - 6:40 PM EDT (28 April 2023). 3) Launch site: SLC-40, Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, Florida 4) Launch direction: Easterly 5) Webcast viewing options: a. I wouldn't hold my breath over it. We are expecting a bit better day than the past 2 weather wise, but not much better. |

The FSS lightning mast took the hit. They don't have any umbilical connections to the ship but yes there can be checks required. Not climb all through the ship physical inspection though. Shuttle had a lightning detection system on the flight deck that was plugged into the ship to monitor this. It would come out before launch. Otherwise each engineering system has to go through their respective systems data records and sign off for no events. I can only imagine that space x is capable of the same if not a better system nowadays. |
