I can't wait for that polar launch, hopefully it's a clear day. It should fly right over me.

I see that close counts in horseshoes, hand grenades, nuclear bombs, and fairing catches. Well done!

Never saw a fairing caught-recovered. They cost a few million $$$ IIRC. More $$$ for R&D and 'Neat Stuff To Come'! |

Starlink 9 delayed, OCISLY is headed back to port

SpaceX is setting the standard on first stage reuse for this type launch system so appropriate prudence is needed to avoid fatigue or component failure from causing a launch failure. It would be interesting to know if the delays are due to this type concern. I do applaud them for not falling prey to "get there-itis" which is a killer in general aviation. |

They have had so much time to look at this one I would be shocked if it scrubs again. Weather is supposed to be good too.

Had a few thunder boomers and some rain but it stopped about an hour ago.
Went outside to look at the sky a few minutes ago and it looked liked it was clearing off. Still about 3 hours to launch so it might be a go. Been a long day, probably going to miss this one. https://www.patrick.af.mil/Portals/14/Weather/Falcon%209%20Starlink-L9%20L-1%20Forecast-%207%20Aug%20Launch.pdf?ver=2020-08-06-081917-397 |
