I tend to think of it in terms of.

Those boosters are a bit bigger, going just a smidgeon faster than an FA18 and those barges are a bit smaller than a Nimitz class.

And this might prove to be the thing that really matters. If we can get power sats and colonize the moon then no other country will have a chance of keeping up.

EXCELLENT!
Seventh launch and recovery of the same booster and I believe uses 2 and 3 of the same fairing halves.
Nearly 960 Star Links in orbit.
Looking forward to the cold, clear Winter skies to view them, the ISS and other satellites!
(Only thing I like about Winter, and better ELF and VLF and 160M Amateur radio reception.)

We did 13 hours at Magic Kingdom, walked out to the bus and the driver had the launch streaming and said it was t-mini 1 min.

So we set up shop and watched the launch from Disney to end our day.

It's not a wall hanger but we were there! First night launch in person too.

I assumed the translation to mean "This booster is the leading lifespan of all the boosters so far, so things that haven't broken yet might start breaking now - but hopefully not..."

Also, I could see it from my place in NC, about 230 miles from the coast.  It was about 2/3rd's of the way down between the moon and the horizon, a constant glow streaking across the sky.

so what is their reliability like on these launches?   i would like to make a trip down to see spme of these sometime, but planning around weather delays or whatever seems.... tedious

Reliability shouldn't (and cannot be) based on the weather.. Thankfully, based on the engineering it is great so far!

The running advice is.

1. Take as long as you can off.
2. Be ready to show up through as many delays as possible.
3. If you have extra days after launch go to mouseworld.

Weather impacts are common.   Far less likely are rocket system delays.  The most recent may have been the GPS III SV4 launch that had some sort of coating in lines that aborted the engine firing.

As boosters get older, do they use them for unmanned flights only, just in case?

Right now; manned flights are limited to certain boosters that NASA has signed off on.

Originally they were going to be new only (as originally were all national security launches) but now they're saying that Crew-2 will use Crew-1's booster.

I personally think that the 'fleet leaders' will probably be used for Starlink launches only, with a possible expandable booster launch in there from time to time (no landing).  Keep in mind that a fully expendable Falcon 9 can throw almost as much weight as a fully-recoverable Falcon Heavy; so if you've got a well-used booster that probably is most of the way through it's life anyway... it makes sense to use 1 core instead of 3.
