My prediction is going to skew into comics spoiler territory so I'm going to put it in spoiler tags just in case.
Click To View Spoiler My guess is that the finale is going to be mostly nothing of any substance from a "war" standpoint. I'm thinking the first half of the episode is eaten up with the last pieces of setup... stuff having to do with Sasha / Newgene at the Saviors base, Rick giving the guns to the romulans and coordinating with Hilltop and The Kingdom, and Gregory making his trip to go tattle to the Saviors. It is during this time that we will have a bunch of time filler "will she or won't she" junk with Sasha... is she going to switch sides? Is she going to commit suicide? Dramaramallama. It will also be revealed in this section that Gregory is the "little birdie".
Then somewhere in the middle of the episode the Saviors will come to Alexandria in force with Sasha as a captive, as a dick swinging move as one last push to assert authority. They will have Sasha bound and head bagged and there will be an open ground exchange for her in return for Rick (or someone of importance to him like Michonne, Coral or Baby plot device). Rick will seem to agree while nodding to his people to fan out and prepare to fight. Rick (or the person in question) will pretend to be making the swap, at which point one of the cast will run out to help Sasha only to discover by removing the hood that she is a zombie... and she will bite the person coming to her aid (fulfilling the Holly / Denise scene from the comics). My guess is this character is either Rosita or Tara, or someone stupid like a redshirt. This caps off the first volley between Alexandria and the Saviors, resulting in a few red shirts buying it and the Saviors running away back to Sanctuary. Then the final stretch build of the episode will be Rick lighting the signal fires to start rallying his allies to strike Sanctuary (the preview scenes we saw of the individual groups marching), which will build to a big meeting at the Sanctuary with all the groups together for the first time. At which point it will be revealed that Gregory is there with Negan (like the comics) and that he has "negotiated" an end to the war before it begins... at which point a few of the Hilltop people will lay down their weapons. But like the comics this pitiful return angers Negan who kills Gregory in view of everyone, which sparks the "war" as the two groups open up on each other... which is how the episode ends, completely and totally blue balling us until season 8. |

okay Here we go. Not sure about a few things.
the kingdom/ didn't seem like too big of a force. Thought they had more personnel. jJunkyard kids/ Negan probably left them alone because they don't have shit. one look at the them it's like a mangy dog just leaving them alone that dog ant guna hunt. so that leaves treetop and Alexandra Rick only cares about the few people at the hilltop , everybody else is expendable. so I think they'll be a battle both sides will get beat up pretty good. fall back and regroup with the original crew. the King and the Tiger are history. / Sasha will battle it out with newgene. both will die separately. death toll. Gregory, Sasha, newgene Aaron's boyfriend King and the Tiger . a bunch of junkyard kids and their leader. and a couple of the minor players from Alexandria Forgot about Morgan He'll sticks a bunch of people in the eye you know with his stick, Alexandria may go down in flames from a counterattack. and everybody moves into the hilltop everybody gets enough blood and guts to come back next season |

By itself, it was not a horrible episode. The problem is it has been the same shit over and over for the last 7 or so episodes, with an occasional moment of decent action or storyline mixed in. This entire half season can be summed up by the cycle: pretend to serve Negan, collect guns, find new group, try to convince new group to fight against Negan, rinse and repeat.
And to make matters worse, so far it's been 99% predictable. Just like I can predict the season finale will be a big cock-tense build up to a big battle that, surprise, doesn't happen until next season. Someone needs to tell these fucking writers that not every season and half season finale has to be a damn cliffhanger. And not every single episode has to be a build up to that season finale. Take the "Look at the flowers" episode. One of the best episodes of the series IMHO, and it really had nothing to do with any big plot to fight the latest big bad guy of the season. They need to do more stand alone episodes like that. |
|
|
The earlier smaller, focused episodes that really only featured a handful of actors tended to turn out decent enough. The problem they are having with season 7 is they are herding cats... there are far too many characters left alive with far too many story threads they are trying to keep tabs on. It is the writer's equivalent of plate spinning now. They have to keep jumping away from one plate so they can mind another plate, and repeat ad nauseam. Which leads to a season full of what we have: a bunch of disjointed stories each telling a piece of the larger story, but because they are so disjointed the larger story suffers at the benefit of the smaller ones... and the whole thing suffers them adding too much repetition in theme.
If season 7 was a movie, it would have been 6 hours long... and a good story rewrite and a good editor could have cut it down to 2 and probably improved the emotional impact and focus. |
|
|
I predict this finale will suck BIG. Another giant cliffhanger. Zero closure.

I have little doubt the writers will screw the pooch on the season finale, its almost as though its their goal each season. They'll leave viewers with a major cliffhanger, accomplish very little (other than killing off some minor characters), and do the exact same thing next season. Damn, I can't wait for Better Call Saul and House of Cards to start back! |

Stuff I learned from A-Team: 1)Always pity da fool 2)Carry wire cutters (you may need to defuse a bomb or start a car) 3)Never trust a crazy fool 4)Carry grenade launcher/machine guns in the van 5)Know how to weld 6)Love It When A Plan Comes Together

Went to lunch to have HOT chicken wings. There were four guys in the booth behind me.
loudly talking about the walking dead. On and on with theories, some we've all heard. but as I finished my clam chowder. They kept talking about Alpha, what is Alpha. And is a cool character we should look forward to. Anyone with Alpha info I'm guessing it's from the comic. And yes in Florida when you have chicken wings you have New England clam chowder first Then steamed clams from Sebastian Inlet/ and then the wings are served |

Great more characters to follow try to keep track of. Am torn. I was thinking
about ordering the whole comic series, than I kind of want to watch the show without too much expectation, so I guess after it plays out in five or 10 years. ill get the comic series and read in my old age, Would've never imagine I'd be interested in comic book @ 60 |

Anyone wanting to read the comics are best served buying the large compendium collected volumes.
You can get compendiums 1-3 from Amazon right now for like $30 each, and that covers issues 1 through 144. I imagine they will release compendium 4 probably late next year (2018). Or just get the first one and see if you even like them. The Walking Dead comics are black and white and not exactly "high art" (both visually or literately), so if you are expecting Killing Joke or Watchmen you will probably be let down. |

Thanks for the heads up JsARCLIGHT ill take a look at Amazon.
Don't know who Killing Joke or Watchmen are But I'll take your advice sounds like a deal. Aways look forward to your perspective on the show. can't count the number of things you've pointed out that otherwise would've gone completely over my head. |

Watching the marathon and something occurred to me.
Is Simon, Trevor, and his crew actually Saviors or just a very successful bunch of providers for Negan? Yeah, Simon was there for the original beat down, but with all the roadblocks and such he and his bunch may have just been pressed into service. The reason I ask is that when he took Gregory's scotch he told one of his guys to "put this on the Negan truck" which implies they have other trucks that aren't Negan's. I also don't recall ever seeing him at the Saviors compound. So is he just a successful Rick? |
