Make sure you come on here and ask for prayers SOONER rather than later. :0) I know you started antibiotics, and I know you had other people praying for you beyond us, but every one added to the energy of it helps. All those focused prayers make a serious difference. You know...for the most part, I had to unlearn a whole heap of things I had beaten into me by church when I was growing up. But there's a few things--I could probably count them on two hands...maybe even just one hand-- that I took away from the Pentecostal Holiness church that I could not have learned anywhere else (Note: There are lots of variations of said church, and that's not the only name of them), or seen demonstrated beyond just the "theory" spoken of by other more "mainstream" denominations. One of them is the demonstrated power of a whole group of people praying at once, focused on one person/thing. It can move some mountains if the recipient is willing and the prayer warriors are clear-minded and focused on the same end, to the good of the recipient. I'm glad I know that. I have seen it more times than I can count. |

You know we were smake dab in the middle of the movment. But when we are on the east coast and doing road trips in the south sometimes you can find this great old blue grass music on the am dial out in the middle of no where. We would crank it and giggle but we ended up respecting and enjoying the quality of the music they made. It was not like today wii in th auto tunes and computers making the music. The guys and gals made the music them selves. Great stuff |

View Quote I've told this story before but I love Jackson Browne, so I'll tell it again. He played one of the events I ran and he was a surprise guest. It was to honor Lamont Dozier, the songwriter for "Why don't you stay-ay-ay...just a little bit a lo-on-ger." It was at the Ryman, and the house was freaking packed with everybody in the music industry. But NOBODY knew Jackson Browne was coming. There was NO billing. That was part of the deal to get him to show up. Everybody was in evening wear--including all of us backstage-- and he showed up in jeans and a t-shirt and a leather jacket. He looked at me and said, "I didn't know I was supposed to dress for this." I said, "Nobody cares. Trust me, they're all just going to go crazy because you're here." He handed off his jacket and Dozier started to sing with just a grand piano and a bass--he had three of the former members of Bread behind him singing those high parts. So he said, "can anybody tell me who all has recorded that song?" And the audience started calling out names. There were a bunch of them-all correct--but nobody said Browne. Finally uxb called out "Jackson Browne!" from the third row. (I had NOT told him Browne was going to be there.) Dozier said, "That's right! And launched into the song again, and Jackson Browne walked out to sing with him. They all went freaking NUTS. It was awesome. One of the best moments I ever saw in a music town. I love Jackson Browne. |
