Good day Sa/oU. Hope everyone is well.

MissB are you OK. That must have been quite the spill. You feel it worse on the second day.

Aiden, are you a Glock guy?

Big LOVE for 1911's once I add a Para to the mix my collection should be complete…(maybe)

My family, 1 of each .22 9mm & 45.

I'll just say that Aiden should give in to his free will and get himself a 1911.

I'll close by saying I started to break into a cold sweat figuring this was going to degenerate into a Glock bashing party.

Sly, NO Glock bashing, have the utmost respect for pure evil.  Actually, own 1 it lives in a holster between mattress & box spring.  Shh, don't tell anyone, keep it as a pleasant surprise for unexpected visitors.

I'm not a basher for ANY type of pistols/rifles, we all have different preferences.  I have deep admiration & respect for them ALL.  When it comes to firearms I'm a free love type of girl.

Just one 1911 now, but a couple of Highpower types, Berettas, and such.
I have been thinking more about grabbing one of the Rock Island 1911s.

I would really like a 10mm, but probably just stay with the .45.

Me as well Ohio, saw a recent thread they are down close to $300.  Never fired a 10mm, anxious to try 1.  Would then need to worry about keeping it fed & happy, another ammo to chase around.  I'd go for 9mm most likely. Finger fucked a few at my LGS & enjoyed the experience.

Didn't want to drag my tired ass out of bed this morning. Terry your toaster pic is right on the $ today.

Oh my, Georgia to get snow, how often do you see such a thing in the South?

Agreed Aiden, Glocks just don't feel comfortable in my hand & do not find them fun to shoot; not a fan of those grenades.  They are designed & main purpose (IMO) is for war, fire thousands of rounds w/out cleaning, drop them in the sand; go through hell & they will never let you down.

Only on ARFcom 1st thing in the morning can a girl get excited about 1911's, ugh.

M1 you sexy beast, HOW are you feeling? At least in Arizona you don't have to fight with freezing temps & snow; think it's 1 of the few parts of the country that is actually warm.

Have a NICE day Sa/oU friends, hugs from here.

Alive and well and sipping coffee at home.

We are getting hammered with freezing rain and the roads are covered in slush, but all of the snow seems to have stayed just north of here. Central and north Georgia are a freakin' mess.
North GA always gets snow in the winter, nothing unusual about that. But nothing like what they are getting now. The infrastructure does not support large snow events.

Thankfully most remember our last really significant winter snow storm, and let employees stay home.
These roads are not safe in this weather, but then they were never meant to be.

The last really big snow we had in Waycross, the local fire and police departments were in a world of hurt, they couldn't put enough ice/snow worthy vehicles on the road to handle calls.
Snow chains were borrowed from residents who had them, but they were few and far between. I think the PD had maybe a half-dozen vehicles that could navigate the roads.
There were no SUV-type vehicles then, just cruisers. Now we have several 4WDs.

The lack of infrastructure is compounded by the fact that this entire area is constructed to withstand long seasons of scorching heat and near-100% humidity, not cold and ice.

Ooh, stomach growling. Be back later . . .

Good morning Sa/oU peoples . . .

Thank you for the morning check-in MissB.
Alive and well and enjoying my grits & eggs and coffee in a warm restaurant.
Gonna be cold in the shop but not for long.

From Weather.com this morning . . .

Southeast Georgia . . .

Ohio, don't have anything in 10mm/.40 cal.

Almost had a .41 Special revolver built on a S&W 28-2, but it never happened and I don't have that gun anymore. Long story.
.41 Special has kinda petered out, I had a lot of hope for it but revolvers in 10mm/.40 S&W pretty much killed interest.
Not sure if brass is still being offered, but it can be made from .41 Mag.
I may revisit this sometime in the future. Of course I have no practical reason other than wanting one.

It could be the official caliber of Sa/oU!

My next mold will be a .230 grain round nose for .45 ACP.

I don't currently load that caliber, I load revolver ammo because the big bores are so expensive to shoot with factory ammo.

I have a pretty healthy stock of cheap practice ammo in 9mm and .45 ACP.
But it won't last forever. And I've got like a gazillion cases for both.

Blah, would have been perfect day to fake a shit cramp & stay home.  The end of the week is in sight so hauled my weary ass into work to tackle a stack of files.

Terry, relieved to see that life is slowly getting back to normal in Georgia.  Sucked to see all those cars & people sleeping wherever they could lay their heads.

M1 hopefully you are recovering from Bronchitis & getting plenty of rest?

Have a NICE day Sa/oU friends, hugs from here.

No, it was cleaned with solution I found on the internet. One quart hot water, one cup vinegar, one tablespoon salt, and one tablespoon dish soap.
Soaked for about 45 minutes, agitating frequently. This batch was once-fired brass that had been stored in the boxes, so it was dirty but not badly tarnished.

I really want to build a wet tumbler for myself, I have lots of well-used brass that needs more TLC than these.
