Elections officials and several North Carolina voters asked a federal judge this week to allow a punitive proposal -- which would bar controversial Rep. Madison Cawthorn from seeking office again -- to move forward.

A number of voters filed the challenge last month, arguing that Cawthorn should be disqualified from re-election for his role in the Jan. 6, 2021, attack at the U.S. Capitol.


According to the challenge, Cawthorn's actions and words at a rally immediately before the attack for then-President Donald Trump aided the Capitol attack. Under the 14th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, office-holders who actively participate in an insurrection are barred from holding office.

He has been convicted of no crime. To bar him would be unconstitutional.

Dont know the man, no idea if he’s a RINO or Patriot.  

But

Their plan all along.

But someone implemented it too soon... should have been the day before ballots are printed. That way he's not on the ballot and there's no time to correct it after the lefty judge says OK even though he/she/it/they/them/pie knows they'll be overturned.

Has he even been charged?

As if the left in this country cares about any of that.

Think if the Republicans asked as judge to bar ALL Democrats with ties to China from running for office.

Might as well ask for World Peace as that would take out at least 50% of the GOP also.

Don't tease...

That matters only to those who believe the Constitution means something. That is our weakness the left exploits.
