The following verses of Matthew 10:35-42 tells us what will happen right down to a man's own household on this choice. I'm also reminded of the wheat and chaff, the sheep and goats. Hear the words given to Joshua in his heart by the Holy Spirit, they apply to all mankind still today. Joshua 24:15-16 And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom you will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites (or any other), in whose land you dwell: "but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD". And the people answered and said, GOD forbid that we should forsake the LORD, to serve other gods. These gods/idols still come in many forms today. Just as the sword/WORD is sharper than any two edged sword, the WORD pierces, cuts, and divides. |

For the believer receiver, the peace promise: John 14:27 Peace I leave with you, My peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. John 16:27 For the Father Himself loveth you, because you have loved Me, and believe that I came out from GOD. John 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in Me you might have peace. In the world you shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. |
