Their aftershaves are good enough that I've bought a few. Specifically, their bay rum is excellent, as is their "Clubguy" Clubman clone. Pinaud Clubman smells like cat piss to me. Going to buy a bottle of their Speakeasy scent as well since my wife likes it so much. They advertise their product as aftershave/cologne but I have yet to find one that lasts as long as an actual cologne. That being said, they have some real stinkers as well. I bought close to 30 of their samples to try out. There have been a few that have been downright disgusting. My advice would be to order as many samples as you can afford that sound good. Guy is definitely a hipster though. Not that that's always a bad thing... |

I just ordered Tombstone shave soap and balm, atomic age bay rum shave soap and balm, and a beard oil from them today. Should be here this week, so I’ll report back then. ETA the balms I ordered aren’t the cube ones. They’re the star jelly stuff. |

Scents are always subjective, but I like his Lavender, Harvest Moon, Red Planet, and Han Polo. I have 4 or 5 of his brushes as well. I also have several of his razors. I like his products in general, and his advertising is entertaining. I dig the retro vibe. YMMV. Doug is passionate about his work, and that’s a good thing in my book. |
