Where else am I supposed to put my dosimetry at work? They get pissy if I put in my pants pocket.
+1 for pockets. |

I would prefer that every shirt have a pocket. At work I have micro tools or hardware in that pocket. I always put my car keys in that pocket. Because if they are in your pants pocket and you sit down in the vehicle, good luck getting them out. Shirt pocket for accessibility. Only down side is if you bend over to get stuff, you dump stuff out of the pocket.

I like a front pocket on my work tees.
Perfect for a handful of 1/2 sheet metal screws while I work |

I like to put a large handful of 22LR or 357mag in my shirt pocket when shooting revolvers.

On a dress shirt, mostly agree. |

OP, I'm with ya. I make zero use of shirt pockets and dont buy them. Cargo shorts as well as I just dont like shit hitting my legs when I walk and I've minimized the crap I carry. I do use jacket pockets.

during the fall and winter I wear an insulated flannel as a light duty coat. My phone and reading glasses go in the left chest pocket.

Is this a product recommendation or just a stock image? I’ve been looking for a tier-1 pocket protector for a WHILE. |

My shirt pockets are my engineer's "utility belt". My everyday shirt pocket loadout at work is: Left pocket - Sharpie and ball point pen Right pocket - my earplugs on a string so they don't flop about, an Olfa box cutter, and Streamlight pen light.

I get disgusted when I grab a shirt from the closet to find it has no pockets. I consider pocketless shirts next to useless, and consider starting a thread about pockets/no pockets ridiculous.

Quoted: Wrong. T-Shirts? I'd agree. T-Shirts aren't meant to have the structural integrity of a dress/button up shirt. Any time I put something weighing more than 2 ounces in a T-Shirt pocket, it pulls the shirt neck down and stretched out like I'm some trailer trash kid who just got done fighting with his brothers. View Quote On heavier working T shirts, the pocket is a great place to keep a pen and a pair of reading glasses. |

I refuse to buy a shirt without a pocket. Preferably two. Only collared shirts, too. And no knit shirts like polos. They have no structural integrity like the man said above T-shirts are right out unless they are white undershirts. Where do you keep your cell phone and pen, in your back pocket or purse?

When we go to the city (once per week), I wear one of my *good* t-shirts, that has pockets. They're good for carrying my phone, and my grocery list.

I wear a grey short sleeved T shirt with a semi-dress shirt over it, with the sleeves rolled up two folds.
I carry my apple phone and a short comb in one pocket, and a twenty dollar bill and a pill in the other pocket. |

Finally an in depth discussion about shirt pockets that we have needed for a long time. While I am pro pocket I feel that men should be free to decide for themselves if they want shirt pockets or not. The pocketless are still our brothers and as such we should stand with them.
