Quoted: Any number of sedans can out accelerate my car. Porsche’s aren’t drag racers. They’re meant to carve up country roads and put a smile on your face. So, all you KIA Stinger drivers can have your stoplight drag race victories. You’ll never know what a true driver’s car feels like. I really hope more ppl think that Porsches are ugly, maybe the prices will drop and I'll pick up another one.

Quoted: Crazy picture, I have both cars except I'm too poor for a turbo model Porsche of that generation. I love my Mercedes 250c as well, mine is even the same color, but I'm doing a restoration right now, and am considering putting an LS in her just for fun. View Quote |

OP has successfully united GD. It might be against him but I still applaud the achievement.

That car so needs the tribal whale tail sticker on the wing like the movie CAR's! Everytime it deploys you see it peek aboo!

Quoted: It a cabriolet and came with the factory hard top which is sort of hard to find. Got a great deal on it. It's at Porsche right getting some work done….a bit pricey but I wanted a certified Porsche guy to go through it…which he did. I'm going to put struts and shocks on it when I get it back next week. Free just to get them outta the garage. IMS been done? |

Quoted: AA717 be up in here trying to turn this into a BMW thread View Quote No argument from me. But, BMW’s got way too dependent on computers way too early for my tastes. I loved my ‘09 6-spd 328ix wagon. I always wanted an M3 (now, I’d love an M2). M5’s are still the shit—best high performance sedan, IMO. Going way back, the 3.0 CSL and 2002tii are still two of my favorites. |

I owned an air-cooled 911 back in the early 90's. Most fun to drive car that I've ever owned but it was good to get that out of my system early in life.

Why do we continue to allow the gays to voice their opinions? I heard on the news we were disenfranchising them but apparently we're not doing a good job |

Op, My Grandfather smoked his whole life. I was about 10 years old when my mother said to him, 'If you ever want to see your grandchildren graduate, you have to stop immediately.'. Tears welled up in his eyes when he realized what exactly was at stake. He gave it up immediately. Three years later he died of lung cancer. It was really sad and destroyed me. My mother said to me- 'Don't ever smoke. Please don't put your family through what your Grandfather put us through." I agreed. At 38, I have never touched a cigarette. I must say, I feel a very slight sense of regret for never having done it, because your thread gave me cancer anyway.

Quoted: Eh, can't say I think any of the Porsche 911's look good but, I can tell you all the loafer wearing Porsche "drivers" cry hard when being beat by a 82 Toyota Corolla on "street" tires track days/ time trials. The Porsche guys with roll cage, slicks and all the latest go fast goodies and no talent. Throw all the money you want at it but don't cry to me because you can't wheel a car... just get out of the way. BMW CCA guys are a hoot to run with though, they have some talent and aren't afraid to let it all hang out. Porsche guys: crying "you were really close to me, my fender cost's more than your car... BMW guys: what are you using for shocks? Did I mention Porsche 911's look like their owners? View Quote lol, yeah Porsche drivers can't drive. The car doesn't matter it's who's in it, and I can promise you that this Porsche owner can drive his car, I also own a BMW, Mercedes, VW Baja bug from my father in-law, and a few other go fast toys. I am on the hunt for another Toyota AE86 though, I had one as a kid 30 years ago and want another one. Maybe you're not understanding what Porsche's are made for, and it's not drag racing. I don't fit the typical Porsche look I guess, usually I'm in shorts and a hoodie with Nike shoes or whatever running shoe I'm wearing from the gym that day. |

Quoted: One night really late on the way home from work, from DC, I was beside a 911 at a light, two lane, to go into a tunnel that curved to get on a bridge back to VA. At that time I had an Armada, and I had been nursing her with awesome maintenance and tires etc, and really working her out with hard acceleration runs all the time. Anyhoo, when the light turned green I floored it, and honestly, that big gal would move out on command. I'll never forget, it got the 911 drive so angry he almost lost it in a curve, making the point to beat and overtake me before we got to the bridge. No lie. View Quote My 78 isn't fast it's 0-60 in 6 seconds, hell a newer minivan will kick it's ass. I don't drive it for straight line speed, and it seems that's how so many uninformed people measure a cars worth. Now if you want to race me around a track for say 15-20 laps I'll give you a lap head start, and we'll see who wins. I generally don't know, maybe you'll beat me. |

Quoted: I wanted one since I was 7 or 8. Finally pulled it off when I was 55. And I’m in a relatively high income job. Don’t feel bad. At least you have good taste. View Quote Same here. I realized I could have. I went a different route. The vehicles I lusted after were typical and I did get one. I don’t regret getting it either. It was a toss up between a Gallardo, 911, or Viper. I went with the Viper. If I were to ever get rid of it I’d consider a 911 Turbo. Slightly less power than my viper. But better handling. |
