I only discovered this part of the site the other day. Sucks that it doesn't get more traffic. Anyways. I've been playing guitar for a long time but have gotten into music production in the last couple of years. I'm still sort of a novice at this, but I've released some of my work on Youtube. My influences are mainly industrial metal groups like KMFDM, Ministry and Rammstein. This is a World War 2-themed video I just released today. Been a while since I posted something new, been busy writing and have a lot of material but a job change, getting engaged, really didn't have much time for finishing projects. This one was laying around in my head for a long time, and the fiance inspired me by singing along to "Great Gig In The Sky" on a road trip...heard exactly what I wanted to do with my three chords. Came out really good, and put a new guitar/amp to use on the solo. 70's/soul singer vibe in this one. More production than I usually do (67 tracks on this puppy, yikes). You Loved Me Anyway |
Now all I have to do is find a one legged nun walking a goat, and I win.

I swear I'd posted this before, but here's an original... a little over a minute and a half, so it's ADD friendly  I wrote it at age 15 after playing for less than a year, , and use it for a warm up before sets now. It gets the old fingers moving. I broke a nail at about a minute in which threw my phrasing and timing off for a bar, but let it ride. One man, one guitar, no overdubs, and recorded sitting in a garage and playing by candlelight. I give you Acoustic 101 Equipment : Takamine EAN40C guitar , Boss/Roland chorus from the recording machine. Roast me. |

Been out of the game for a while but my old bandmates and I have been writing and recording. We hired out the drums to a pro and also hired a string quartet from Croatia. I never thought I'd have strings on a song so I'm really stoked about it. It's the best sounding recording I've ever done for sure... all in my basement other than the drums and strings. Recently released a 22 song album of my stuff (on Spotify/whatever you listen to music through), but as I was mixing and mastering and getting it all sorted, I had a cool idea for a song that didn't get done in time. I was behind some land-whale EBT monsters in Target, and the older one kept telling the younger one "I'm homesick!" and after the third time she said it, my brain just filled in the lyric in this song. Thank you, EBT lady. It came from the heart. PS, solo courtesy of 1967 Princeton and my trusty Tele. |

Here's something a little different. I wrote this song for my late Mother I lost a few years ago and the band didn't really feel comfortable taking it on, and honestly it's not in the realm of what we do. I wanted to put it out into the world though and I'm not a great singer, so I worked with the Nashville mixing engineer that my band works with to hire out some exceptional talent (and used an amazing quartet from Croatia I've used before) to make this as beautiful as it could possibly be. In the end, I only played the 12 strings and the e-bow at the end, after having recorded everything in the entire demo myself. I don't care though. It's the best sounding production I've ever been a part of, and it's a symbol of who my Mother was. I'm really proud of it as I am of her. Homemade Christian Death Metal. I've been teaching myself audio production and this is my latest song. I've done 5 songs prior, but I had never done any mixing or tracking so the quality is poor. This song is a step in the right direction. I'm hoping to continue to make improvements in my mixing. All guitar, bass, and vocals are live tracked by me, the drums are programmed using GetGood Drums. All music and lyrics ate written by me. |

 Belac - Stones Latest effort. Less technical, slower, and less riff heavy. I really wanted to work on using a new instrument, so this gave me the opportunity to work with mixing piano. A lot better than my last. Still not where I want to be, and my vocals are still very slam-poetry-esque. Really going to focus on more melodic and musical vocals. All in all I'm really happy, and I got a lot of good feedback to learn from. |
