| Our Samsung remote is acting crazy and the nets tell me just to buy a new one or download an app to control the TV via WiFi. So I open up the Apple Store and there are dozens. Anyone try this and which app has worked for you? I found one that looked good, but the premium features (whatever those are) are available only with $40/year subscription. |

You can get a 2-pack of Samsung TV remotes for $10 on Amazon. Please don’t download a flaky, data-stealing app with a subscription no less That is just an outlandishly horrible idea. Edited for politeness. |

Get a firestick and it also can control the fs and the TV. |

I put the Amazon fire remote app on my phone, and it controls any TV with a Fire stick or Amazon controls. It's a little less convenient, but it works in a pinch, ya know, if your dog eats the remote  Originally Posted By konger: Good ideas gentleman! 2 Samsung software updates back the multi-button remote got wonky. Only the slim included remote works fine on my newest Samsung TV. The slim remote is either USB-C recharged or placed in the sun upside down using the solar panel on it. The older Samsung TVs still work fine using the multi-button remotes with replaceable batteries. Attached File Mrs.Tangotag uses the Smart-Things app mainly for the Samsung washer and dryer. There’s also a Samsung Soundbar we use too. So, the app is handy for a few things. When you’re traveling on an airplane, you get alerted when the dryer finishes.
