Think it'll be good? Ridley Scott's movies are a hit and miss sometimes.

I like Joaquin Phoenix... dudes a boss actor, kinda like DD Lewis.
kinda trippy weirdo into it almost.. |

A whiff of grape...would still be useful for dealing with BLM/Antifa. (Guy was ahead of his time)

I would be interested in seeing this, phoenix is a weird dude for sure, but I’m betting he could pull off a character like Nepoleon.

I just learned how Napoleon’s grandson died in the British military after taking a Zulu spear and pulling it out of his own body to fight to the death when he eventually got a second spear in the eye.
Pretty badass to be honest. |

Vive l'empereur!
(I read David Chandler's The Campaigns of Napoleon). Somebody should have told him not to invade Russia. He captured Moscow but it had been abandoned by the Tsar. They waited for the French to retreat and then hounded them back to the border. La Grande Armee was destroyed as a result (poor clothing, lack of food, weather). |

Yet another movie not to watch. JP. Lol. Peewee Herman could play the part better.

La Grande Armee was destroyed as a result (poor clothing, lack of food, weather). And even after that he STILL won back the loyalty of the soldiers during the Hundred Days, it's so fucking epic. An anecdote illustrates Napoleon's charisma: when royalist troops were deployed to stop the march of Napoleon's force at Laffrey, near Grenoble, Napoleon stepped out in front of them, ripped open his coat and said "If any of you will shoot his Emperor, here I am." The men joined his cause And even after he lost, he won over many of his british captors because he was such a charismatic dude. I wonder if we'll ever see another man like that again. |

Hugo's 'Les Miserables' version of Waterloo is wrong, but I like it better than the real thing.
Will watch. |

Definitely felt like watching a different movie, so much plot was removed from the theatrical version. |

Hope it is a good representation.
For me, the classic actor of Napoleon will be the one from Waterloo. Great movie if you haven't seen. Huge cast of extras as soldiers. The whole French Revolution and the rise and fall of Napoleon I is a fascinating part of World history. It shaped or influenced MUCH of our current World events. Everything from what would become the continental United States to what is happening in Ukraine today.
He had topographically correct miniatures made of potential battlefields throughout Europe, Russia, the Mediterranean and studied them, forming strategies, years before any potential battle would manifest. He had them updated regularly and used them much like we use modern satellite imagery. Maximilien Robespierre is another fascinating figure from the French Revolution as well. |

Phoenix is strange but pulled off Johnny Cash, the Joker and Commodus who was similar to Caligula and Nero. Dudes a good actor. But maybe the rock or vin diesel would be better for one of the greatest and most interesting people in history
