I'll just say as someone who is a student of history (both as a kid on my own and then actually studying it in college) that any time a group of people will try to distort facts, manipulate data and flat out make shit up out of whole-cloth in an attempt to re-write history to fit a political narrative makes me want to go all Vlad Tepes on their asses (see the pun) literally and make a forest of screams out in front of every publisher, college and school in the land that has been buying their bullshit.

I mean there's old history, sometimes new facts come to light and that changes how events are perceived. Then there's shoddy history, where people use the most basic of sources and come to either the most blisteringly obvious conclusion or conversely miss the point entirely. There's also revisionist history, which is manipulating the facts to fit your conclusion, and up until recently I thought that was the absolute worst kind of history. But what the 1619 project does is even worse, they not only manipulate the facts to fit their conclusion but they invent precursor conditions to make their manipulation seem like it is simply a correction of "old" history and a cleanup job on "shoddy" parts, normal revisionists don't take that step which is how they're usually so easy to see through but this stuff is insidious because it's like they're writing pure fiction, annotating it from sources that they also invented, and then presenting it as fact. It's motherfucking Orwellian.

And on a side, but related, rant. I've said, more than once, in this and other threads that I never thought I'd see the principals of Nineteen-Eighty-Four put into practice here like this, sure the PC crap in the '90s reminded me of it slightly but that was like just dipping the toe in to test the waters, now they're fucking cannonballing us with it.

NewSpeak is a thing, look at how carefully all of these inspirational speakers on the streams we've been watching have used their language, they're trying to encapsulate all political speech into the lexicon of woke-ness and make it Wrongthink to use the improper terms. Look at "Black Lives Matter" if you take it as, you know, English it's a pretty simple thing that anyone should be able to say "Yeah that makes sense." But to them it has a specific definition: Black people who are killed by white people, specifically cops, but not exclusively. That's not what anyone who speaks English would take that phrase to mean, but that's the totality of meaning if you're one of them. If you use it in the way that a normal fucking human being who speaks English does, they'll berate you until you either parrot it how they mean it or surrender by admitting you just aren't woke enough. Same thing with "All Lives Matter" anyone who has a brain in their head would agree with that (to an extent, I mean some people just need killin') but to them it has a specific negative meaning and means you're a racist. Now unlike with them, you will never be able to convince them that "all lives matter" because it's racist. Period. Full stop.

War is Peace - This one is so obvious that even the normies see it, I mean chanting "Peaceful Protest" while slamming into a guy on it's face is silly. But these assholes actually believe that they're peaceful, while making low grade war. That's because changing the language also changes the thinking, so if they are indoctrinated with the "right" language than anything is possible. It's not new, hell the concept predates Orwell even, look at how Nazi and more tellingly (since it had longer to evolve) Communist propaganda works. If you make the worst things sound the most benign then anything is possible.
