A swamp rat up to his neck it or knows who is involved. Either one is a dangerous place to be with the democrat swamp rats breathing down his neck! I don't get it. If I were a swamp rat it seems like the last thing I would do under these circumstances would be to resign. I'd stay in my position where I have access to information and I can direct the investigation in the direction I want. But then maybe I'm failing to think like a swamp rat. |

In fact, before they whole early voting thing came along folks here would just go to the courthouse, request their absentee ballot in person, show ID/verify, fill it out there, and they'd put it in a box with the rest of the absentee ballots. |

They could do it "right" and create a new category, changing database structures as well as all of the program code that enters and reports on the votes including the code that produces web pages visible to the public. That would be expensive and error-prone, with a pretty good chance that even a one-line mistake somewhere could mean screwing up the election or reporting numbers that were wildly inaccurate. Or they could simply say that mass mail-in early voting is basically absentee voting on a much larger scale and call it done. In most cases that would be the more responsible choice. ETA: You have to understand where I'm coming from. A lot of programmers suck. You really don't want them messing with important stuff. |
