Most vibrant place close to me while growing up was Oceanside. Place was ghetto as fuck in certain parts late 80s to 90s. I think its somewhat better now.

I'll go even older school than the afore mentioned collect/reversed charge calls. Does anyone else remember telephone "party lines" where 4-5 houses (maybe more) would be on the same line. At my grandmothers house, one would have to pick up the handset and listen to make sure no one was already talking on the line before dialing your call. If they were talking, and you were interested in the subject, you quietly listened (spying???) or joined in on a rousing conversation. I can not imagine what my grandmother (born in 1898) would say if she were alive today. |

Tonight I managed to light a fire using flint and steel. Lot harder than using a ferro rod, but more satisfying. The secret seems to be in getting your tinder as fluffy as possible, so as to give maximum surface area for the charcloth to act on.
In other news, the McLovin gambit failed, surprising no one, and I think I'm banned from facebook for real now. Same deal with twitter; new accounts seem to have a lifespan of an hour or so. I am refusing to give up, and so I am strategically withdrawing to Gab to start a new identity as RedpillPharmacy. Same modus operandi; pretty much just cross-posting from the Dank Memes thread. |
