I thought in MX you needed a bank to purchase land for you but not sure if that was just beachfront or any land. All might have been BS as well but I don't see anyone just buying land in China. |

In a situation like that, I believe the security concern is that you can be blackmailed by someone threatening to tell your spouse. It's possible to mitigate infidelity as a security concern if, say, the person confesses to their spouse and goes to counselling, or something similar to remove the possibility of coercion. Bit of a "rock and a hard place" moment. Either you lose your clearance, or you lose your marriage, haha. Of course, you would then still have to mitigate the larger issue of having poor decision making skills, but that's a separate hurdle to overcome.  Also, somewhat relevant, there's actually a database from the Defense Office of Hearings and Appeals that lists a bunch of contractor clearance adjudication cases, for people who fuck up their clearances and appeal the adverse results to a judge. Whoooooole bunch of in some of the cases, to be sure.ETA examples: Applicant is a native of the People's Republic of China (PRC) and a naturalized U.S. citizen. His parents, two brothers, sister, mother-in-law and father-in-law are citizens and residents of the PRC. He has mitigated the concerns raised by his possession of a PRC passport by causing it to be destroyed, but the foreign influence concerns are not mitigated. Clearance is denied Applicant was convicted at a General Court-Martial for false official statements, larceny, and fraud. He failed to timely file his federal and state tax returns for four years. Applicant failed to mitigate the security concerns under Guideline F, financial considerations. Eligibility for access to classified information is denied. Applicant recently stated his intent to remain drug free, but that statement is not compelling in the context of his extensive drug use over the preceding 31-year period. He continued to use marijuana for a full decade after being granted a DOD security clearance. He has not established a track record of abstention. Applicant intentionally falsified two security clearance applications by failing to disclose his illegal drug history. He currently owes over $24,000 on six delinquent accounts, and failed to provide any mitigating documentation. Applicant failed to demonstrate reliability, trustworthiness and overall use of good judgment. The resulting security concerns were not mitigated. |

Not that many care but ND and some other schools are thinking about skipping the bowl games. I believe the Rose bowl normally held in CA is for the national championship game this year. No families would be able to attend so they want the Rose bowl moved to a more "friendly" state to play in.
Congrats Cali...Newsome can ruin anything....
