I'm still catching up from this afternoon. RS always has the best combination of information, entertainment, and inspiration. Thanks for helping me keep things (good and bad) in perspective, and for giving me more reasons to rejoice and stay hopeful.
Speaking of staying hopeful, I'd like to share some encouraging news (for us, anyway) from Domestic Enemy Twitter: antifa members are getting tired and giving up. Not all members, obviously, and maybe not even enough (yet) to negatively affect the group's operational capabilities, but the fact that comrades are becoming ex-comrades, and publicly criticizing their former affinity groups, is significant and encouraging. It's also a cautionary tale for patriots about the practical limitations and human costs of political activism. Note: I am not responsible for the following, but it's exactly the sort of thing I try to amplify via likes, comments, and DMs on my "other" social media accounts (demoralization ops FTW). This is just one example of a recent trend I've been seeing with more than a few of the PNW antifa accounts I interact with.
Yes, I know that there will always be useful idiots eager to replace broken down, disillusioned activists, but the antifa attrition rate is increasing, and they're struggling to attract and radicalize potential comrades fast enough to sustain their operational tempo without making compromises and/or burning out more experienced members. It sucks for them, and it's a win-win for the rest of us. |

Of course, most of their actions will be blamed on the massive rise of "white supremacist" organizations along with an actual rise in "right wing" backlash. The next 5 years are going to look like a hybrid of the Irish "Troubles" and a mix-up of the Spanish Civil War. Additionally, you'll have opportunists like criminal gangs using the media attention to extract "pay back" on rival gangs and blaming whoever most fits the political narrative. It's not going to be boring, that's for sure. |
