The really annoying thing is that if you don't tie it on correctly, the cheap blue mask will redirect your exhaled breath up toward your eyes, fogging your glasses. In those two pictures, it's likely that something similar is occurring, with the exhaled breath going around the cheap blue mask (not being filtered, at all), instead of through it. It's just a visual talisman for the people around the person wearing the respirator. |

The guy that was involved in removing her, stepped in and said she was right, then explained that they wanted her to agree that she would comply without any trouble, on her return flight. She asked for his name, and he said it didn't really matter. She asked if he was security or something else, and he decided it was time to escort her to airport security. Was she drawing attention to herself by tweeting her opinion (before she was done with her flight and the return trip)? Yes. Was it stupid for the airline staff to make her wear the cheap blue mask over her respirator? Depends on whether or not the goal was to protect her, or to keep the people around her calm (wasn't long ago there was a thread about a looney woman attacking a guy on a flight from Florida to Atlanta, because he had his mask off while he was eating). Did they make it clear that they wanted complete compliance (which apparently involves keeping your opinion of their procedures to yourself)? Yep. |
