That brings back a few memories (faintly) of my college days. There was a little pub in town that kept that on tap. I grew quite fond of it. But then, at a quarter a draw, I was fond of most all of it.
It was always good when you could pick up enough change off of the floor at lights on, last call to go drinking the next night.

Monica.

My college days were .50 cent pitchers or 12 packs of Coors because we were poor.

ABC = Always Be Carrying:

Man charged with attempted murder for striking off-duty Alabama officer with vehicle

Man charged with attempted murder for striking off-duty Alabama officer with vehicle

Charges have been upgraded against a man who authorities say struck an off-duty police officer with a vehicle at his home earlier this week.

Gregory Martin Hill, 54, was initially charged with second-degree assault in the Tuesday attack on Decatur Officer Jack Brown.

On Thursday, police said Hill is now charged with attempted murder.

The incident happened at 5:17 p.m.

Decatur police spokeswoman Irene Cardenas-Martinez said the officer was at his home with his family in the 2200 block of 11th Street S.E. when Hill approached the officer’s residence on 11th Street S.W. in Decatur.

According to charging documents against Hill, Brown noticed a black Jeep Wrangler stationary in front of his home and asked the man – later identified as Hill – if he needed assistance.

Hill began to curse at Brown and then backed out and hit a car on 11th Street.

As Brown made his way to the end of the driveway, Hill attempted to run over the officers and instead struck a tree next to the driveway.

Brown retreated into his home to get his gun and handcuffs, with Hill chasing after him, the affidavit states. The officer exited his residence with his duty weapon and ordered Hill to get on the ground, which Hill refused to do.

“Hill got back into his vehicle and Officer Brown attempted to get him out of the driver’s seat,’’ the report states. “Instead, Hill drove directly into Officer Brown, who discharged his weapon into the Jeep numerous times.”

Brown was pushed almost the entire length of the front yard, police say. Hill then backed up and ran over Brown’s legs.

Hill then exited the vehicle and was subdued by Brown and a civilian who witnessed the ordeal.

Cardenas-Martinez said there appears to no connection between Brown and the suspect.

Brown was taken to the hospital and since has been released.

On Thursday, Morgan County Circuit Judge Charles Elliott who set Hill’s bond at $1 million cash.

I imagine they upped the charge from assault to attempted murder due to the video. The DA probably read the written witness statement and assumed that the officer was exaggerating about what had happened.

According to the article, it was complete randomness:

Cardenas-Martinez said there appears to no connection between Brown and the suspect.

Hill certainly looked like he was on a mission, though. I hope more details become available.

In an effort to keep more of RIOT SQUAD healthy and combat ready, please consider ignoring the food pyramid that we were all raised on, and instead go with a LOW CARB LOW SUGAR  /  HIGH FAT diet.

Fat isn't the problem.  Carbs (particularly processed grains) and Sugar are the deebil that has infiltrated our food supply.

I said something similar to this after the attacks of Sept 11, 2001. Our border was wide open as well and Bush refused to secure it.

I started replacing carbs/sugars with protein and fat once I realized that the resulting inflammation was a potential cause (among several) for the Alzheimer's which runs in my family. Perhaps placebo, but I have felt less confused/lethargic since the diet and lifestyle changes earlier this year.

Scrape off the toppings and just eat them. Once you have purged the floury and sugary stuff from your system just the toppings will be enough to satiate you.

I had the greatest success with following a Paleo diet which is like Keto in that you eat lots of protein and minimize carbs.  Worked great until my work schedule forced me into grabbing food on the go.  I have no excuses now - it's just a matter of getting back on that wagon.

Cauliflower pizza.

Company called "Real Good Foods" makes a number of really tasty items including tacos, enchiladas, chicken nuggets, breakfast bowls, dinner bowls, etc.

The key is they make their 'breads' and 'pastas' using a mixture of chicken and parmesan cheese that significantly lowers the carbs, gluten, and general flour bloat.

A lot of people diagnosed with various chronic inflammatory and autoimmune diseases have reported impressive improvements after going carnivore, too.

I've been following Shawn Baker, "a medical doctor who served as a combat trauma surgeon and chief of orthopedics while deployed to Afghanistan with the United States Air Force," according to his bio. This is his interview with Anthony Chaffee, MD:

Two Carnivore Doctors Batting A Thousand | Dr. Shawn Baker & Dr. Anthony Chaffee
