I upgraded my PVS-14 mount to a Norotos dovetail setup and went back to an Aimpoint T2. I had an ACOG/RMR combo on this gun and never really loved it.  Attached File |

There's youtube videos of people doing it to the newer Lodge pans that have a rough cooking surface from the lack of finishing after casting them. The usual method is to take a grinder with a flap disc and go to town. You might have to use do some hand sanding in the tight spots where the bottom transitions to the side of the pan. Work through finer grits until you are satisfied with the smoothness. Clean well and season it the usual way - lard/oil/grease heat it up, etc. The only cast iron cooking item I have is a Lodge griddle. I haven't been motivated enough to do the above. HOnestly don't use it enough to warrant the effort. |
