Just over halfway through this…Ruger told me no on the youth stock, so who knows. Any way to mount an arca rail on the bottom of the stock in front of the magwell? At some point I want to get a good tripod but I have the poors. |

Took the 7.62x39 out yesterday to check tracking on a Nikon scope. 50 more rounds down range. This rifle is fun to shoot! I’ll be polishing the bolt soon and giving the stock a rattle can paint job once the weather warms up and gives me a calm, dry day. Attached File |

Today's results. Please remember I had a stroke and have extreme issues on the right side (lack of feeling, aphasia just to name a couple). This is therapy for me. I changed to the Ruger pic rail base, and some Weaver tactical rings. I mechanically centered the scope so I had to redo the zero from scratch. Attached File I pulled the bottom two. Working on my trigger pull with my condition. Attached File PronAttached File Attached File So far extremely pleased. Nothing funky going on. Just ordered a YHM RESONATOR R2 so, there is that. |

The front flush cup is not perpendicular to the bore, it’s angled down maybe 10* to kinda match the curved bottom of the stock Attached File |

Ask away man. You are correct. It’s a combination . The chassis is a Sharps Bros Heatseeker with the forearm cut down. The stock is from Grey Birch mfg. |

Finally got my Magpul stock last week after some weirdness with our corporate overlords. But cheap so it's all good. Dropped in no problem, once I read the instructions and stopped trying to pull the v-blocks out of the Ruger stock. I really like the look and feel. Unfortunately since hearing about hte Magpul stock, I've been getting more and more interested in really light rifles, so the weight is... offputting. I am leaving it for now due to looking cool and really liking the pistol grip and shortness. And it's very stiff. But at the cost of being over twice as heavy as the OEM stock. Total package with scope, bipod, Hybrid can, empty mag is something like 10.5 lbs, ouch. Weight of OEM 697g Attached File Magpul weight with no length spacers, but also no V-blocks installed 1,478g Attached File So cool with iron sights only!! Attached File Total package with PA 1-6 300BO, MOE bipod. Considering moving the Hogster to this gun. Next stop if everything works is the paint booth. Attached File |

Saw a sale at Sportsman's Warehouse and couldn't resist since no FFL fee and no shipping if delivered to store. Just sloooow to get there. I have a used Nikon from the EE on the way for it. eta: It came with a NIB Dura Mag in in the box which I thought was interesting. As for the x39, I was so impressed with how handy the 16" 300blk is that I grabbed the x39. I have a lifelong buddy into x39 who has wanted one and has had a rough couple years, and he lets me take a ton of deer off his land, so that one will be a nice surprise for him. |

Lol that’s how I do it When firearm season starts I take a few rifles and start with one of my guaranteed freezer fillers, legacy 30-06 or 270 bolt guns, and once I get my first I start using different guns. Either a gun I haven't used before or something more tailored to various terrains I have access to. And I like to have a loaner with me in case someone else has an issue with theirs. All excuses for more guns. It is satisfying to take a deer with something new, or something like an iron-sight brass-receiver single shot 44mag, or that kinda stuff. |
