I have no doubt when the dust settles that there will be members in various fields injured by these that will make for some awkward questions.

From a technical standpoint? Embedded microcontroller that looks for charge pulses in a specific pattern. Embedded HE with a simple initiator, triggered by the MC.

It's not rocket science.

Dear Israel,

For your next exploding device project, might I suggest "exploding goat vaginas"?

Based on its the most obvious explanation.  Just look at a few of the videos and pictures posted here.  This was a shape charge going off.  Also every explosion appears equal in strength. That rules out the batteries exploding or did Hezbollah all have their pagers charged to the same level? Just two of the most obvious examples.

Israel controlled the supply chain somehow.  This should be a massive wake up call to the United States.  If Israel can do this on 2,500+ devices what does our enemies have in store for us?

A rotary phone's insides are MUCH more complicated in a mechanical way that a Touch Tone one. A lot of gear train and speed governor mechanical parts as well as sets of contacts. A lot of "Grandad's things" are like that. Very complicated mechanically as compared to our electronic devices. Take a look inside a Model 15 Teletype patented by the Teletype corporation around 1915 if you want to see some of Grandad's handiwork.

A very complicated machine with a lot of gears and timing parts. Only two electric solenoids and contacts. The rest is all mechanical. They are a marvel. I used to have the complete set, of Teletype, Tape distributer (paper tape reader) and a Reperferator (paper tape maker) All mechanical marvels. WD40 was my friend.

At least 5 months ago (as per sources) in at least 5000 pagers.

JFC with the environmental impact statements determining the timeline for getting assets in place.

eta: I wonder if they've considered the environmental impact of missile hits on Guam.

They warned Hezbollah a while back that they had unknown capabilities.

Guessing Hezbollah is in the same boat with being unsure what to expect next.

Not likely if you keep the people distributed on the island. Just don't get too many over on one side. THEN there could be trouble, oh, and don't rock around either.

Last week they pulled a boots on the ground raid on a key Hezbollah/Quds Force facility in Syria; now they blow up a huge chunk of Hezbollah's middle management.  Killed Shukr and Haniyeh in July, Haniyeh while he was sleeping in one of the most secure places in Iran.  Figure in the 400+ leaders they've tracked and killed in Lebanon using drones, on top of tracking and killing Mohammed Deif in Gaza.  They've shown Hezbollah and Iran they can dominate the conflict at all levels.

Yup. Some asset of Mossad gets the intel that the hezbos ordered 5K pagers from Ali Express or wherever due to arrive in weeks/months. IMI quickly gets to work "modifying" said pagers and some how they managed to get them into the right hands. Amazing piece of work! Hopefully non ended up in innocent hands, if that is possible in the ME.

I wonder how many lost their balls.

The pager is small, and it seems many carried them in the front pocket.
