In true arfcom fashion, GD has once again found ways to spend my money. Thanks to this thread, im looking at acquiring Suzuki Carry. Even stranger, the missus has taken shine to them, seeing it as a craigslist/garage sale moving vehicle. I'm more in it for moving the crap that would tear up the interior of a nicer car, and 3-4k is easily within our impulse buy range for that sort of vehicle.

So the question becomes what do we need to know about these things. Looks like there are sellers all over with milage and price varying. Driving on the right would take some getting used to, but what say GD?

I don't have a Carry but I do have a Daihatsu Hijet. Street legal, great farm vehicle, beyond tiny, super fun. I would definitely recommend one!

If you slam on the brakes does it flip forward if the bed is empty?

Get an older pick-up that's in or close to that price range. That thing is an abomination. Driving that is more embarrassing than driving a Prius.

I looked at one of those once but the right-hand drive was not something I was into.

I think it'd be an excellent truck though.

It’s called the “carry” because that’s what you’ll have to do with your shit after it breaks down.

if you want to see what can be done with a mini truck IE: Mods, check out Youtuber "Motocheese" he's got a large playlist of vids he did when he was buying his and how he modded it.

just and FYI you can find tires that fit mini trucks at any UTV/SxS store :)

I have a 1998 Suzuki Carry with right hand drive. I got it as an alternative to a UTV for around the place.

Much bigger box than a UTV plus enclosed cab, heat, air conditioning, quieter, and cheaper to buy.

I have a pic somewhere but not on this laptop. Had a tree die, cut it down, bucked it up, and loaded the fuck
out of the thing with rounds to haul to where I wanted to put them. Took it like a champ although I'm pretty
sure I exceeded the rated capacity by four or five times. I just keep loading it until I think it's had enough

And it is registered/tagged for street use so I take it to town or the neighbors or the post office sometimes. I wouldn't drive it on the highway too much
but I did when I bought it ... flew to where I bought it and drove it home.

I don't care if anybody is embarassed by it; I'm not. It actually gets lots of compliments and interest.

The skinny tires tend to leave ruts so I'm going to get some adapters and put UTV or maybe golf cart turf tires on it. And a hitch.
There are companies out there with all sorts of upgrades if you want to lift it or otherwise ATV-ize the thing.

I also have a 1998 Delica 2.8 TD RHD. It gets better MPG than my F150 Eco 3.5, diesel has been cheaper vs 87 since
I've had it.  I took all the seats out behind the two front seats and use it for everything, hauling whatever fits, slept in it many times,
and when I use it as my commute assault vehicle when I have to commute into the city - don't really care what happens to it.

Neither of them owe me anything at this point.

I love JDM imports. Would recommend.

Pffft. I thought this thread was about a new carry method from Japan.

I am disappoint.

A go kart works best for that. Low profile.

I thought this was going to be an Asian CCW technique.

"the Suzuki Carry"

Would a p365 fit in this?

They are really cool, but around here the prices are insane. For the same price I'm in decent used truck territory.

On some of them, the front wheel wells take a huge chunk out of the floor space.

Engine access is also cramped - have to pull out the seats to get to it.
