Yesterday morning,,,still can't get used to him not here...had him 10years... The vet came to house and it was as good as process as it could be,,he had no more pain. He had sever bone cancer in rear leg,,once he couldn't stand up on his own,,it was time. He was on various meds but they simply stopped working. I made right decision but really miss him. |

Sorry OP…Took my 12 year+ buddy to the bridge a couple weeks ago. still see her in all her usual spots…gonna take a while. Just a little technicality on the Rainbow Bridge…the pet goes there and waits for you, then You cross together 😢 |

It is an easy process when the vet does it. I went with a neighbor to the vet to put her blue heeler mix down when it developed cancer. I stayed in the room while the vet did the deed, bitch neighbor didn't have the guts to stay with her. I consider it one of the better actions I've taken in my life. |

Thanks everyone. He got diagnosed couple months ago and vet gave me steroids and sedatives to help him cope. They said be a point meds don't work and he got to point he could not get up on his own and that was when it was time. The vet that came to house was great, she walked me thru each step. Short of passing in your sleep, this was next best. He was at peace and pain-free. Someone asked if I'm getting another. Answer is , no, I can't go thru this again. Maybe later I'll change my mind, but this is a big loss for me. Without going into long details,,he was a rescue dog I got when he was 1year old. But , honestly, he was the one that rescued me. I had some life changing, difficult times. I owe him, he was the one thing I could count on, being there, unconditionally and he was always treated well for that everyone that knew me, knew he came first in my life......anyways. just put this out there......... |
