[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Show me your home offices...

I'm going to be converting one of our spare bedrooms into my WFH office and need some decor ideas. I already have a desk and am thinking of getting like a futon sofa that converts to a bed for when we have guests. Decor needs to be tasteful as it will be visible in zoom calls. I'm thinking automotive or airplane related artwork, especially larger pieces that take up a lot of wall space.

So what kind of stuff do you have in your home offices?

Nothing. I’m in the loft and my camera faces a window. My goal is camera off as much as possible

Mine is just the attic space above my garage.

I think a plain white wall works well IMO.

Only problem I'm fighting is heat. With the server up here its getting hot during summers.

My home office has several pinball machines along with the requisite desk, file cabinet, printer etc. I often have a dozen guitars in cases under the machines but moved them out before this photo.

Pre-flooring pic -- this is a room located off my garage i had framed in at the initial build for office purposes -- i guess its office/bike storage now

current situation --- the desk is not visible but is in the area behind the leather chair. An appropriate home office should include a TV, comfy chair besides the office chair, and a spare bed for midday naps

I had a really great home office in a third floor loft for the past 30 years

It was also my reloading and gunsmithing room, as well as my photo library.

It was tits.

I just took it apart because we're moving.

I am in the middle of getting mine set up, now three years after I retired

but will be used for my hobbies.

I did not make the cabinets too manly, as I wanted to keep the room as neutral as possible so it would be an added feature if we sell, will blend in as an office or a study room for a high school student

The cabinets I had made match the cabinets in the house along with the same color, some planning ahead and some of it was my OCD. Granite counter top will be installed in two weeks. The lower cabinet height is 40" with the granite, good working height. I just bought some roll up rubber runners to lay out when I am working on heavy stuff.

What I really wanted to do was buy one of those cabinet set ups from Harbor Freight, but Ms 77 was not to keen on that...anyway what I got will work great
