With prices so high on beef, this is a great way to be a hero, on the cheap.

Today at my local Frys/Kroger, pork loin was priced at $1.99/lb on the counter.  I was reading the sticker on the package and they read $1.49/lb.  As I picked one up, the meat counter stock girl whispered "those will all ring up at $0.99/lb.  I bought 4.

I smoke these to minimum safe temp and wrap to sit for about one beer.  RFX Thermoworks alarm set to avoid any mistakes.

You can eat them just as they are and then have sammiches the next day.  Yams and corn/beans go well with this.

Since beef prices went way up.

Around here more pork loins, steaks, roasts or ribs go on the grill/smoker nowadays.

Whole chicken or leg quarters too.

About the only beef we buy anymore is hamburger and steaks if we find them well less expensive than most times.   Pork, chicken and fish are it.   Which sucks as I love beef, but I refuse to pay the ridicules prices for it.
