BIL did three tours in Afghanistan. My wife would send him a check list to mark what he wanted. We sent him weekly packages to him. These were the most commonly requested by his unit:

Really depends on where hes going.. the more remote the location, the more austere quality of life. I've been downrange for 7 months and you can accumulate a lot of shit while here. A Px or troop supply/MWR USO tent can provide any and all things for the most part, hygienic, edibles.
No shit, weve got boxes and boxes of hygiene stuff, granola bars and health treats, water flavor packets..19 yrs of war in some places create a massive surplus of welfare supplies from the constant influx of different units. the things I like are the stuff from home: sauces, pictures, homemade treats, stuff I can't get at the PX. I requested some little debbie cakes from my folks..and ill be damned if I didn't get 4 case packs from complete strangers. Let him get where hes going and contact you.some of the locations are running 110v others 220. Converters may or may not be necessary..I travel a lot so I've carry a converter with me just in case we wind up in Transient lodging. |
