https://thatparkplace.com/concord-developer-addresses-massive-backlash-to-game-after-it-was-revealed-it-pushes-pronoun-nonsense-and-features-dei-character-designs/ Firewalk Studios appeared to confirm rumors that the company was shrugging off the massive backlash the game received after it was revealed during a PlayStation State of Play presentation that the game pushes pronoun nonsense and DEI character designs. In the PlayStation State of Play, Firewalk Studios’ Kim Kreines, who is the Director of IP, revealed a number of the characters for the game including 1-Off, Vale, Lennox, Emari and more. Each of the characters that she shows off features the character’s name, its role, and then their preferred pronouns. Many of the characters have clearly been created to adhere to woke, DEI character designs. One such character is Emari who is an obese black woman. Another one of the characters named Lark has “undecided” in the location where the other characters’ “preferred pronouns” are.  Sony is about to lose MILLIONS! Hyper woke Concord game has a disastrous beta! Gamers are DONE! It’s now available and not doing well…  Concord FAILURE Cost Sony $214,285.71… Per Player! |

It was always destined to flop given that it was a $40 game that copies half a dozen free to play options and does absolutely nothing better than any of them.
It just didn't really help that the character designs sucked, the game play sucked, the marketing sucked, and the forced game journalist articles pushing it sucked. Add all that together and you have a 100 million dollar game that can barely get a few hundred players online. |

Consider this: Sony had like a dozen hero shooters in development and decided to cancel half of them to focus on the others... this was one of the ones that survived that cut. Not only that, it was the first out of the gate and presumably the best they could muster as an opening salvo. Which leads one to believe Sony is probably going to cancel another 3 or 4 of these games to stem the money hemorrhage.
Secondly someone told me Concord is putting up the same numbers as Suicide Squad Kill Rocksteady, which also leads one to believe the same idiots who bought that bought this. |

Playstation numbers would have to be heavily supporting Concord in order for Concord to even get close to Suicide Squad. Suicide Squad maxed out above 13k on Steam on launch, Concord couldn't even break 700. This is so much worse than Suicide Squad. |

The super annoying thing is that apparently a bunch of the PVP devs for Destiny 2 were working on Concorde - the PVP play aspect of it is apparently awesome as D2's PVP is one of the best PVP experiences in a video game out there...(notwithstanding weapon nerfs and shit but I mean in game feel, weapon control, stuff like that).
It could have been awesome. Then someone decided "let's make it a fun game to play, AND make it for Reddit people!" ...and here we are. |
