Also, it was strange that the video feed cut out during the landing.  Showed the feed from the 1st stage coming down, a few seconds of lost feed screen, and then there it was sitting on the drone ship.  If I were part of the tin foil brigade, I’d be suspicious.

Fun fact, in last year's test when the Falcon lands on the same drone ship, feed also cuts out at the same point for ~ same length of time

You can watch it on YouTube

I think the ability to land a vehicle after use may be the most important thing from all of this.

Full crew is 6.  I believe they are at 5 so somebody will have to hot cot or sleep in a capsule.

Sounds like they are planning on a 4 month stay.

that's pretty normal.

IIRC, its only about 25% of the time that the video doesn't cut out before landing.

Hmm.  A little strange it was just entering the atmosphere and then less than a minute later it was on the ship????

I thought the same. It moved real be quick.

It probably knocked the dish out of alignment for a sec.  It is a boat on water with a fucking SPACE ROCKET landing on it after all.

I caught it for about 15 seconds before my view was obscured by a large cloud, not crowd..
I think everybody on the block was outside watching it.

After seeing several launches it's the first time I have seen so many folks outside cheering .

A couple of years ago @AeroE had minimal confidence concerning SpaceX's chances of ever getting someone up there, instead speaking about Boeing's engineering experience.

I always found it an odd comment.

What if I got a number of Boeing/LM/Defense/Rocket engineers, techs and machinists with years of experience into my company?
Does it matter that my company is 87 minutes old?

callout post

The video was awesome, but the coverage was cringeworthy.  The guys on Discovery Channel just would not shut up!  Talking over important communications, restating the obvious, and constantly cutting to people like Adam Savage in his homemade astronaut suit talking about how excited he was.  CNN was even worse, with half the lower half of screen (where speed and altitude were displayed) covered with their logo and the crawl with a constant stream of crap about the Floyd riots.

Weird too, the Discovery feed was over 10 seconds behind the CNN feed.  I guess Discovery wanted to cut away if anything bad happened.
