SpaceX IPO (Page 5 of 7)
|
At fidelity, Confirmed 200 and got 100 in my Roth. Confirmed more in my taxable account and so far have none. When I look at the ipo page my Roth confirmation is gone but my taxable account confirmation is still there, so hoping I’ll get some more. Interestingly, I confirmed my Roth within minutes of getting the email and confirmed my taxable account hours later so maybe it’s a first in first out for orders to be processed? Waiting for options to become available! |

| I wasn't able to get in on the IPO, but I got 100 shares at $150 sometime this morning. I set a stop limit of $150 before the open. I was mixed if it would rise or fall. Wish I would've bought more though. I was kinda surprised I was able to jump in on Fidelity. |

picked up 228 shares at IPO Etrade about 28% of what i asked for got lucky and had a order in before opening of shares price limit of 150$ they all filled so now am sitting at 554 shares at a price point of 143.84 not everything i wanted but not bad and better then I expected my goal is 1000 shares in total but I am going to sit and watch this for a week or so and see what happens if it goes crazy high from here then oh well i got my 554 shares and i will be happy with that if it drops down then ill buy em up as it drops to the Moon baby! |

I think it has already surprised a lot of people and will continue to do so in the future. |

I expect to see some profit taking at the end of the month when the IPO soft lockup period ends. Long term though I think $175 is going to look pretty good as a buy in price. |

Could be a good buy in for retail right now. I see it climbing higher then in August when lock out periods end and more stock get released, it will correct once more. But not financial advice lol. No one knows for sure |

IDK, I'm not an options guy and don't pretend to be. ![]() Options started trading Tuesday morning. I have sold calls 3 times and covered twice. Thus I have reduced my cost basis from $135 by $5.65. (Tax nerds relax. I understand the IRS looks at it differently). Today’s short call would reduce that by another $0.38. Calls are selling well, though I haven’t looked closely this morning. The figures I gave above should be adjusted to account for the odd shares I couldn’t sell calls on. |

Constantly reading and hearing that $175 might be the true valuation. But that’s before pricing in mega upside, acquisitions, inclusion and FOMO. So it’s interesting that it’s settling in that range until the next push. July 6th or 7th. Then it might stabilize at a new level. I’d be buying but I’m reloading my powder. |

Bought some more around $179 and sold $190 calls expiring next month against them for $1360. So I'll wind up owning the shares at $166 or making about $2400 profit per call in a month. The interweb says that nasdaq inclusion is around 6 July and the first quarterly earnings call hasn't been set, but will be late July or Early August. I guess I accept the assumption that nasdaq inclusion will increase demand and thus long option strategies expiring in July are the way to go. The earnings will be poor by conventional standards, but like other overvalued companies the impact on stock price will be tough to predict. |

I like options on spacex because I'm a believer in them long-term, so I'm happy if I wind up with shares and I'm happy if I wind up profiting on the options. One thing I regret is not selling calls and puts ASAP because the premiums were insane. They're still good, but pale in comparison to what they were on the first and second day options were available. |

Based on my rough numbers, QQQ alone will have to buy on the order of 20million shares of space x stock once it becomes part of the nasdaq index. That's about 10% of one day's volume for just one index fund. Any thoughts on how much demand index buying will create and how elastic (or not) space x stock price will be? Is it possible that indexes are already buying shares in an attempt to pre-empt the rush? Is that legal? I've googled but can't find any details. Seems like a good opportunity for a short-term profit via shares or selling puts. |
