Well, done enough for Mecum in Nashville next weekend. They got it there yesterday evening after 3 weeks of working 16 hr days, some days were up to 20 hours. I think my son has reached burnout for a while. Once these two cars are sold, he’s getting a new job somewhere only putting in 8 hours a day. He’s built this from the ground up and had to cut it all apart and fix shoddy work done by others. Car is not perfect. But considering it’s his first all over paint job, it’s not bad. Yes, there are a few flaws. But the owner is in a tight spot financially and it had to be there by yesterday at 6. He rolled in at 6:05 and the auction crew waited on him. The gray ‘67 convertible was even worse off. Birdcage was rotted out in a few places and he had to cut it out and repair it. Previous shop (if you could call them that) reinforced the floor pan by dumping Bondo in the bottom of it. He did things to these cars that the “experts” said couldn’t be done. He told them to hold his beer and watch. The ‘67 has a 10 speed auto. Everyone said it would never fit. LOL! Attached File My son is the guy on the right. Beautiful. There are a LOT of Vettes that roll by the house all summer but there is one red split window that actually makes me look every time. The lines just flow so well. |
