Decided to throw in and buy one.
Currently I am getting a hard case, and all manner of adapters to go from 12v/usb to it, as well as all the 18v battery types I have. Do I need to buy anything else? |

I just got my regular one set up a couple months ago. Was pretty much plug it in, align and gtg.

If you bought a Mini but just wanted to use it when your primary ISP goes down even when on generator power is there a way to power the Mini and get into some type of interface to turn it on?
I'd be interested in one as a backup but if you lose power/ISP/cellular but can power the Mini it would be awesome if if you could start a month plan to get connected ASAP. |

You can power it from car 12v with usb adapter. It draws around 40 watts max. You can also use the various battery packs like the Ecoflows. Or you can run it with your 18v drill batteries (milwaukee ryobi etc). You'll get like 2-4 hours use, but its ultra portable. A 50 watt solar panel would probably also work. I think you have to have service to restart it. I recall a video last night where a guy did not have on the allow over 50gb option/ charge 1 per $5 gigs. So he can to drive to cell coverage to get it turned on, then it went back to working. I think you can active and reactive as the system will navigate to starlink.com. I'd probably set it up, so it will automatically go over 50gb so you avoid what happened to the guy above. |

I have a Mini that I got a couple of months ago for camping/roaming the desert. Works great.
I power it with a Jackery power station at the moment. Starlink is now selling a DC cable for plugging it directly into a USB-C PD port.  Attached File |
