I recently took a job in a tropical climate. Work wear is business casual, so I'd like to get some linen or cotton button up shirts. Amazon just has mostly Chinese shirts of dubious quality from what I can tell. Are there any good companies making these kinds of shirts? I'm not particularly fond of the guayabera style, just basic lightweight shirts of various colors, maybe some patterns too. |

I buy a mix of US made and Japanese there of many different material types. The japanese have some of the best textiles. |

Personally, I don't think many men can pull off short sleeves, outside of a polo or a T-shirt. Most end up looking like dweebs. Polo has some decent looking linen shirts. Just roll the sleeves up. Also, long sleeves tend to be more versatile in my opinion and great when you're at a restaurant where they have the air conditioning set to keep the cook over the fryer happy and everyone else freezes |

Honestly my favorite linen shirts are some cheap ones I picked up at zara in Germany. For a local or reputable online retailer I like Sitka’s Ambary line. Hemp/poly blend. Reasonably light and breathable and they have some color variations. In true hot weather I don’t like ultra thin white linen cause I will sweat thru it and it becomes transparent. I generally recommend sizing up slightly for hot weather as well. |
