One of the biggest positives about the area is how conservative it is. I’m sure that’s something everyone here can appreciate right now.

Lubbock is half liberal, get 5 minutes away and its more conservative than most Americans could ever hope for.

Eight Tennessee football assistants reject pay cuts proposed by Vols athletic department
Eight Tennessee football staff members rejected pay cuts that were proposed by the athletic department to help combat financial losses caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, according to documents obtained by Knox News via a public records request.
The eight staff members are the only athletic department employees who were asked to accept a pay cut and declined, records show.

Wide receivers coach Tee Martin and running backs coach Jay Graham are the only football assistants who have accepted pay cuts.

Declining pay cuts were:
Offensive coordinator Jim Chaney
Defensive coordinator Derrick Ansley
Offensive line coach Will Friend
Quarterbacks coach Chris Weinke
Inside linebackers coach Brian Niedermeyer
Outside linebackers coach Shelton Felton
Tight ends coach Joe Osovet
Strength and conditioning coach A.J. Artis

Tennessee’s athletic department expects a $40 million loss in revenue during this fiscal year, largely because of a pandemic-induced reduction in football revenue.

Will Friend was one of my OL coaches at UAB. He was there under Neil Callaway.

Friend was a great offensive lineman for us.

Wouldn’t be shocked if Krispy is already writing their termination papers up

The talent in that family is incredible. And yet, Harbaugh can’t develop Dylan into a starting quarterback? Can’t wait until he’s replaced as HC. Hopefully Dylan can find a spot someplace.

I was out in my garage smoking my pipe and watching the ND/BC & USC/AZ games on my garage TVs.

A neighbor who I did not know stopped by with his daughter, introduced himself and asked me what the scores were.  We started talking football and he was very knowledgeable about all of the teams.

He said he was from Iowa, moved to Chicago and then here.  He said one of the best things about moving down South (besides the weather) was ... wait for it ... SEC SEC SEC Football. He says he absolutely loves it.  He does not have a favorite SEC team but he has gone to several SEC games, most recently the FL/GA game.  He has seen many of the SEC teams play in person and plans to attend a game for each team.  Says he plans to stop by next Saturday night to watch some of the games with me.
