It might not be a “game of the year,” but I sure am looking forward to it.

Probably going to still be a draw for the best HBCU transfers, but I’m curious if the university staff is going to notice a big change in behavior around campus.  I know Colorado is woke and universities absolutely are, but they might not be used to having hood life so close.

Plenty of places to get into trouble up there, if you're so inclined.  Probably best to do the mountain life and find a hippy girlfriend in those parts

I doubt it.

The media will get YEARS out of “it takes time to turn around a program, but ‘Coach Prime’ has it headed in the right direction” excuse.  Nevermind that many of the people saying that are the same ones that claimed Colorado was a playoff contender after Week 1.

My favorite Les Miles moment.

Miles emphatically signaling to his QB to spike the ball (despite there being one second on the clock) and then after the game Miles threw his QB under the bus claiming he never signaled for his QB to spike the ball and he had no idea why he did that because “obviously you can’t spike the ball when there is one second left.”

Vern’s “WHAT ARE THEY DOING, WHAT ARE THEY DOING” was hilariously perfect.

Oh, I ‘member.

I also remember Nov 1, 1997. I was at a wedding up on Long Island; a big Jewish wedding, my first one.

The food and drink was off the hook. Vodka luge, who knows how many courses of food and hours of open bar.  It was insane. At some point during the wedding I heard that UGA had beaten UF.  Whoa Nellie, I went off the reservation.  My (now ex) wife was holding my head out of the toilet for hours.  Her NY friends were not impressed.  And I didn’t give a shit.

They did a good job with the pairings.  UCLA is perfect.  I would have switched UW and USC.  USC is more about appearances and UW is more under the radar.

If Colorado was in that group, they could have been The Deep.

I watched that live and when the QB looked back at the coaching staff, then looked back a second time, I figured Miles had lost track of time again.  That wasn’t his first time making that mistake, but it was the last I remember him doing.  First time I saw him lose a game like that I wondered why he didn’t have a position coach right beside him watching the clock.

There were also plenty of games that LSU should have lost due to Miles’ incompetence, but his players bailed him out and LSU still won out so it was quickly swept under the rug.

I vaguely recall a game against Auburn where LSU was in FG range at the very end of the 4th (with Auburn leading by 1 or 2 points).  With only a few seconds on the clock, Miles called for a throw into the end zone.  The WR made a fantastic catch for the game winning TD with one second left on the clock.  If the WR didn’t make a low probability catch, it is likely that time runs out with LSU in FG range down by less than 3.

I might be getting some details wrong though.  @WDEagle can likely recall the details better than me.

Score was tied with clock running & 9 seconds left.  LSU went for touchdown instead of calling time out & kicking a field goal.

Then in 2016 LSU scored the "winning" touchdown on the last play only to have it negated because LSU did not get the snap off before the clock went to 0:00.  Miles was fired the next week.

It’s wild how every SEC team has had runs of being at least “very good” with one glaring exception.

Vanderbilt.

In their 120 year history of football, they have never had a 10 win season and they have had a winning record 3 times in the past 40 years.

On the plus side: during their most recent winless season, they had a female kicker they brought in to kick PATs (they still used a male kicker for FGs and kickoffs).

Tells you everything you need to know about the school. Other schools get to pretend football is an extracurricular. CU doesn’t care, trashy program, classless coaches, mercenary team
